crypts are an excellent species for the lower tech tank. I wouldnt say mosses though, personally, mine dont take off unless lighting is good.

2 pots of HC came today that i ordered from AE, I noticed it had some clear jelly type stuff on the rockwool, im just curious of what this is? fertilisation? thnks.

I have found that vallis will melt and then the new growth should give some resistance to it, ive added vallisneria spiralis to my 60l which recieves 2ml of easycarbo daily, a few leaves are melting, but others flourishing.

Im growing it in my rekord 60, Jack. ive got the 1xt6, im loving everything about the 60cm, growth is real slow, but every plant is super healthy. Im dosing 3ml TPN+ and 2ml easycarbo daily, i will experiment with cutting out the tpn+ dosing, doing only macro's and see what works in the comming...

Im my eyes, its aquafleur that actually give the ultimate quality, maybe not quantity of tropica(if you get them from tgm) but aqua essentials and aquafleur are what i prefer to use, plus, its cheaper!

Just chop it as low down to the "head" as possible, so the stem remains on the top bit you want to re-plant, before though, remove a couple of leaves that may get burried when re-planted, otherwise they will rot.

I thought i'd let you guys know how this moss turned out some time down the line, maybe my impatience, but i ended up removing it, only certain bits were coming back to life, and as i had some excess from cuttings it seemed the best thing to do was to replace it. I do not advise pouring liquid...

I can now see the moss recovering, very slowly, but recovering. The inner bit of the leaf is green and i have faith that will grow out.

cheers, i used to dose 0.7ml as per instructions becuase of my cherries but have moved it up from that to 1ml then 1.5ml and now 2ml as i find at these levels, its not affecting them thanks for your help guys, let it grow let it grow let it grow. :D

late last week i took some of my moss out of my tank and put about 3 mls liquid carbon directly on it, to try and get rid of some hair algae, however, its all yellow, looks dry looking. I didnt think it was possible to kill moss :lol: thanks

why have you e-mailed easycarbo? they havnt done anything wrong, if you did enough research before hand you would have found that was the case, you wouldnt buy a camera and presume its HD(for example) just becuase it doesnt say that it isnt HD on the box :?

Hi guys, yet another issue im trying to put right in my 35litre, is that when i trim my rotala rotundifolia, about 1cm down from the cut is all damaged tissue, where the stem has turned brown-ish, is this becuase of blunt scissors? or a wrong way of cutting? If the scissors are at fault, can...

anubias is an undemanding species.. dont bury the rhizome, otherwise it will rot. Tie it to wood/rock.

Im not sure if this was just me, but i did achieve pearling, only at extreemly high co2 levels when i was experimenting.

basic rules apply to most plants, trim the roots to a couple of cm's, remove old/damaged leaves and plant, deepness should be until the bulb is covered and so the bottom of where the plants start isnt covered by substrate, otherwise they may rot.

yes if other contributing factors are good, ie. circulation, co2 and ferts.

I have grown marselia with easycarbo, it was fairly good... and "myboyshay's" journal demonstrates how well e.parvula can be grown with liquid carbon. go for it!

To be honest, from the picture i would be tempted to suggest that actually the plant is both a Microsorum P, and Microsorum P "narrow" both in one pot... the leaves on the left hand side look like the normal Microsorum, just follow what Viktor said and you cant go wrong really.

I agree with sam, one thing i have learnt is that parvula grows low, if i wanted to use hairgrass i would use acicularis instead without a doubt, parvula seemed to bend back down, just my experiences. Tennellus would look fairly similar to blyxa, however i think it grows longer and thinner...

I am prefering the look of thr needle leaf version of java fern, and being as well java fern reputably is hardy and suitable for high ph and low end brackish i was wondering if the needle variety is as hardy? thanks

I would use glosso, I belive it would fit in better with the size of the plants in a jungle tank :)

really, mine grew about 2cm in a month with easycarbo and tpn+ and 2.5wpg

it isnt MA, just my local shop has started to deal with aquafleur.. i have recieved my tgm blue stone today, and its ace, kinda makes me want to do iwagumi again :lol:

yea, there is the gel and the liquid, i have recently used the liquid, although i think i should have used the gel, nothing wrong with either though really

although i have never brought XL, i think its pot luck with the tropica plants, when setting up a previous tank i had an normal size java fern, but i have just recieved an huge one, nice big leaves, all healthy, not even the same plant.. dont your local MA do aquafleur aaron?
