I did discuss that with the wife and was promptly shut down. The open light was the deal breaker there :( But that's a cracking looking set-up you have there!

The Roma looks nice but I just wouldn't match the room. Seems to come with a load of stuff with it like the Juwel as well but I'd prefer to just have a plain tank.

Yeah, I've been using it for years with cermic jobbies and more recently my aquamas. I do have another regulator from aquatic magic i can try.

I've opened it all the way but no joy. If i sate the end off the co2, i can stop the flow of c02 with my finger. SHould I be able to do that?! I'm stumped as to what the problem is here.

Didnt you used to have an EX 1200 Sam? I must admit, any noise would be an issue simply because of where the tank is, right next tot he sofa.

I had exactly the same problem and had the same end result. Cracking customer service! I think based purely on size then the JBL wins it for me. I'll have to measure up but this is certainly a decent option.

Hi Neil! It has been a while! That looks like a decent buy and is more powerful and smaller to boot. I think that would suit me better than the EX1200. Not ready to order just yet but this looks like a leader at the moment!

I think thats the problem. I'm putting through 950 PLH from my Eheim pro 2 which I dont htink is quite enough for this to work well. How do you get that Fablon stuff to seamlessly mould around corners and the likes? I tried some fablon on a bit of furnature and it look scrap becuase of how i had to cut the damn stuff.

Yeah iot goes in at the bottom of the reactor so the bubble rises against the flow of the water.

I had the same concerns about this as well. In the end I opted not to use the fill and drain kit. Now i just syphon off the water with a 50ft hose attached to a eheim crook then when its time to fill up again I just use the same hose attached to a universal tap connector. Those things waste...

for something so simple, its difficult to find a source os a plastic mesh. The size that would work nicely is going for 30 quid on ebay.

What about food grade metal like a seiv or something similar? they let a decent amount of light through.

Yes, with a plastic mesh I would raise it up with the help of some riccia slate dug into the substrate.

They do deliver and have quoted me in the past for everything including lighton on a custom tank.

If your left with an acidic compound after a recharge, that surley means that there is bleach particles left in it! Especially if it can then leech acidity into the water!!

Blimy James, you cant leave gadgets alone can you! :) Does this just replace the Eheim filter inlet then? I've never bothered with them before but I can see a film buildup since redoing my tank. I think its something leeching out the wood so wouldnt mind getting one.
