I guess you could call it rattling. Its constant and consistent at all times of day and doesnt change of i shake the filter to purge any of the trapped gasses that build up.
Interesting! Thats not a problem that i'm having too much of but when it does happen, it can be even more noisy. Do you...
Yeah, done all of the above. I do notice air gets trapped inside as well ans then the filter sometimes burps our the excess. I assume this is becasue my CO2 is coming out of solution as its agitated throught he filter mesh. I'm going to try rmeoving some of it and see if that makes any difference.
Thanks for the reply.
I've not checked the impeller but havent taken it apart either so assume they would be there unless its been dlievered with missing parts.
I have seen that video but it seems to be more about the burping as opposed to the constant loudness of the filter.
Cheers
Hi all,
As part of my new tank setup i treated myself to a Oase Biomaster thinking that these are premium filters with great features. Problem is i'm finding it REALLY noisy, so much so that i can hear it in other rooms of the house and over the sound of the TV of a night. Been in touch with...
I'm also having the same problem. Out of interest, how did you contact them? I've tried their online form which doesn't work so I've emailed the info email address. Haven't had any response at present.
Hi Guys,
Simple question: What new filter should I get for my 180L tank?
My current one was 1850L turnover per hour and was an Eheim pro 3. This was one of the ones that had a design flaw whereby the head fills with water due to a problem with the primer. Has this issue been fixed on the...
I think thats what I'll go for. It'll be so much easyer with one filter. Just need to figure out intake and outtake positions now. Anyone have any suggestions?
Well, I admit the Eheim is looking odds on for the moment but I can only find a couple of references to the flow rate which is said to be 1850LPH. Can anyone confirm this is indeed correct? If so then the 10 x stated turnover rule should be satisfied and I can get rig od the Eheim pro 2 and TT...
Thats one of the ones I was thinking but I'd go for the 2080 to save me 100 quid. I already have a hydor inline heater so would continue to use that.
Just wondering if that alone would be enough?
I'm currently running an EX1200 but in all honesty I'm not that impressed. Its not a silent as I would want and on its own doesn't perform well enough to circulate the CO2. Of course, mine could be a dodgy one and I might not have it set up optimally for distribution.
I've heard dodgy reports...
Hello Chaps!
With my impending bonus from work I have a bit of cash spare so I want a single filter solution for my tank.
The 'must haves' for me are as follows:
Near on silent!
Uses standard tubing
Works well with an UP atomizer
Works well with spraybars (Eheim installation kit)
I'm only...
Hi Garuf,
In this situation though the circular motion would go from the back of the tank to the front, down the front glass and back anlong the substrate to the back of the tank. Given that there would be 2 outlets performing this action only half the tank would have co2 saturated water. I get...
whats peoples thoughts on the following?
spreaybars along the back but the filter intake is swapped round so that 1 filter is taking in CO2 rich water from one side of the tank and chucking it out in the opposite side. The other filter then takes NON CO2 rich water and chucks it out in the CO2...
Hi Ed.
I'm not sure how you mean?
I dont know how i could point them in different directions as the spraybars will be on the back wall so can only point them up or down rather than side to side.
Lee
Well i wasn't really sure. At the moment the outlet points across the length of the tank but I plan to put both aross the the back wall pointing towards the front wall of the tank. So one half woulf have co2 rich water while the other half would be normal water. Do you think they will mix enough...
Hi Guys,
Im getting a second filter to up my filtration and flow rate.
My existing one is about 1000 lph and the new one will be about 1500 lph.
I have 2 questions:
What filter would you recommend an in like co2 reactor to be put on to?
With the co2 coming out of only one spraybar, how to...
I'm interested to know this as well. I'll be doing a very similar thing with adding another filter and adding the spraybars along the back wall pointing towards the front wall.
Its pretty new so i hope its not gone to pot already! Its definatly a metal rod rather than the ceramic ones you get in external filters.
Thanks LondonDragon i'll keep persevering then.
guys,
My koralia has developed a loud buzzing noise after being on for a few minutes. If i power it off and leave it for 5 minutes and then start it up again its silent. Then all of a sudden it starts buzzing again.
Any ideas whats wrong?
Just thought I'd add that I had ro parts sent out to me (a hose adaptor and an O ring) both of which didnt fix the problem so Rupert had a new filter shipped out next day without needing the old one back.
I've since opened up the filter to see if i could find the problem and somewhere in the...
I'm a little confused as I called that number and spoke to a chap called Rupert (that number posted is his direct dial) and he said I needed to call another number 0080076688766 which I did. I then told them my problem and that I read they had identified a problem which sounded like the problem...
I am very disapointed. Bought a new ex600 for my nano and decided to run it on my 180l tank to get it cycled quicker. Went away for the weekend and came home to a saturated living room carpet where the filter decided to leak half the tank water out.
The missus is not impressed, and neither am I...
Hi guys,
I'm about to set up my Nano which has been doing nothing for abotu 6 months.
Its going to be planted and be primarily for cherry shrimp and have injected CO2 and 2 x 18w lights.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a filter to give me the holey grail of 10x flow?
Lee
I got my korailia 1 the other day and i'm pretty impressed. The rippling effect i gives is very benificial for oxygenation as well as clearing crap from the surface.
One question though, How do you guys have yours? At the moment mines at the back of the tank, underneath my filter outlet...
I thinkideally I would like to have clear tubing and possibly get some clear lily pipes. I guess a classic is my best bet for this.
I'm not sure what fish i will keep although it wont be a betta.
I have a45 litre nano which i'm now about to set up but I cant decide on a filter for it.
Cost is paramount and it really needs to be as cheap as possible. I was going to go for a HOB filter but i dont think this would be that good for this tank.
Can anyone suggest something? Second hand is a...
Much more agreeable than ADA.I saw these too and am concidering a set when i clear down my coldwater tank.
I wouldnt worry about quality, I think ADA is vastly overpriced irrespective of where it comes from. Its the designer lable of te fishkeeping world and i'd bet my ass that they do exactly...
