    Thanks both. It does seem like a virus or something. Very odd. I’ve never seen anything like it in 25 years of fish keeping! @Gill - Did Tue fish recover after that treatment? I’ll pop out tomorrow to try and get some of that treatment.

    I thnk it was the manufactured black sand. I swear it was leeching something into the water that cased problems. I got rid of all the sand and am going for some natual rive gravle from AE so hopefully this is now a thing of the past.

    There wasnt but the little fella died yesterday evening. The tank is cures i think, its forever killing fish and I can only assume its the substrate as I always have diatom problems in there.

    for anyone that coudl help shed some light on this: came home today and the coldwater tank had a goldfish hiding away. Upon inspection it has some pretty large blisters on its backside. does anyone know what this might be??
