3 watts per gallon - sounds like far too much co2 injection - are you injecting enough and is it being distrubuted efficiently? daily/weekly tropica ferts - are you dosing enough? Localised around mosses - mosses are notorius for collecting gunk most probably a combination of all the above factors

sorry didn't read it properly! if you are only dosing liquid carbon then as paul said you should try increasing the dosage or going the pressurised route first, if that has no effect then try increasing your nitrates

JBL Algol - has anybody had any experiance of this product? AE says: "The effect is designed such that, although the result is only seen after a few days, the plants remain undamaged" will it effect the fish or inverts?
