Currently in our house we've decided not to use the central heating and try using oil free space heaters to only heat the spaces we're actively using. Usually we just put them in the hallway and open the doors. So far it's actually been quite effective, more than I expected. We don't need to...
Currently I have 4 tanks; one 300L high energy nature aquarium, one 90L high energy biotope, one 60L macroalgae tank and one 8L 'no tech' tank living off sunlight and top offs (soon to be 14L).
There's also two small terrariums and 3 small ponds outside. 👀
I got rid of Sky last February! I was paying £50 a month for what is essentially junk.
I don't even watch TV so there was definitely no point.
I don't miss it at all.
I do understand the risk, but I just feel that there are more imminent threats to our native waterways before ricefish are even considered, as you said @PARAGUAY
It also seems odd that goldfish are still A-OK yet can be incredibly destructive and invasive if released into the wild. But hey ho...
Are we going to have to develop code words? 🙃

The historical cycles mean that things like this will keep occurring even 'in this day and age'...look at what's happening in China for example! One issue is that too few are alive to remember the trauma of past events and so history repeats itself. It's all good reading about it but it's human...
I think the lightning bolt will come in handy! Should stop new posts getting lost. Although I think I do prefer the old design I'm adaptable 😁
Edit: Now I'm starting to doubt myself...was the lightning bolt always there?! 😂
I would disagree with this to an extent. I've had several species that aren't 'matched' to my water live full lives and breed. Thing is, most fish we keep aren't matched to our water, even the commonplace ones like neons and cardinals. Stendtker Discus are a good example of this, and they're no...
Growing fruit, vegetables and herbs! Also gaming, houseplants and travelling (RIP). Clearly I'm into nature haha. Cooking is my first love but that's more of a career now than a hobby...
There are definitely some inefficiencies. I got my first dose of Pfizer a couple of weeks ago and if I had waited until my allocated time I probably wouldn't have got it until the summer time...or better yet when it's available over the counter.
The Pfizer one can't last once they get it all...
I agree to an extent. Planted tanks and especially aquascaped ones are not cheap by any means and that probably puts a lot of people off.
However, some of it is also down to priorities and what an individual values. For example you could have someone that doesn't earn much and the idea of...
I feel the opposite where I am. There's only 2 Maidenhead aquatics in the whole of South London and they're pretty much right next to each other.
If Aquatic Design Centre didn't move to Balham I would have been a bit screwed. As great as these places are, neither are specialist aquascaping shops.
Awesome! I wish these were popular when I was buying my display tank, definitely would have been swayed.
Good luck!

Photography and Cooking.
I run a freelance photography business with a friend and I'm a chef by trade. It's nice to have a mix of things to do [emoji106]
