While I'm sure Richard from AE would make sure the rocks were a nice selection; I know what you mean about selecting your own hardscape. You might want to source a landscaping supplies place. My local rock supplier has a really wide range of rocks, including spaghetti rock, Holestone and a...
Very nice George and love the Oryzias. Might have to get myself some of those; they'd look great with my Pseudomugil getrudae. Like the effect the Pogostemon give, almost like a ruffled sword or crypt in a larger tank.
Think I've sorted the picture in the post but I'll try again here too.
Actually this link only seems to work after you've gone to the link posted. Have you hosted this on a web page? If so it only seems to load when that web page is active.
Nice tank. I like the floating plants, looks like a real wild stream/pond.
The Amazon Frogbit in one of my apisto tanks has roots that go down into the substrate from the top! It's a 15" deep tank. The apistos like it!

Looking forwards to more details and...

Best bet from a garden centre would be a John Innes Seed or Cuttings Mixture. Make sure that it has low NPK values and no slow release fertiliser added to it.
Or just use some of your garden soil! As long as you haven't added lots of fertiliser to it or put any herbi- / pesticides on it.
You could always try giving the crypt a trim, with a difference. I've done it in the past to a few rosette forming plants with mixed success. What I do is take off all, or almost all, of the leaves and the new ones that grow back in are smaller for a while. It's worked for me with C.becketii...
Great tank! Love the 'wall' of Anubias and java fern, really contrasts with the Nympheae. I hardly noticed the big group of panchax and platies at first. Very nice.
