Thanks got there in the end!
Was going to purchase some calipers but that was another £20.
Still, all good and I can use the cables I purchased....for other solenoids if needed.
I got a glue gun and black glue so will use that.;)
Cheers
Purchased some of these converters from Amazon.
The white-tipped DC Barrel adapter fitted so all good.
Tested with the newer longer cable and the solenoid switched on and off
Cheers!
Hi
Thanks for the reply!
I purchased this cable below.
The jack is too large.
What I can't get, is that I have a spare PSA for a Twinstar Light below, and that 2.1mm Jack fits into the Solenoid.
Probably just purchase another PSA with the longer cable length.
Cheers
Hi Crew
I would like to increase the length of the power cable to the Solenoid/Reg!
Does anyone know which...cable I need.
I purchased one from Amazon but the jack plug doesn't fit?
Cheers!
Hi
Personally I would fill the gaps with crushed Lava rock till its above the surface of the cells, this will give you extra grip when adding rock/stones!
Depends on how you want to go about modifying the light obviously there are other options!
I like the easy way out.

Purchase a few Acrylic Squares that fit inside the old unit....and silicone them in so flush with the edges of the old light unit!
Then bond the Nicrew light to those and around some of the edges if needed!
Those are removable!
One of the reasons I did it that way is if the bond fails or the light fails I can remove the plate and go to plan B.
I can always remove the inside of the light and replace it with a new LED strip also if that fails.
Strangely enough....I've dropped a Twinstar in the aquarium twice with no issues other than a light full of water!
I did a hack in this thread!
https://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/hagen-fluval-flex-aquarium-34-litre-hood-light-quick-hack.73377/
I see!
Depends on how much you want to spend....You could purchase a Twinstar and bond it underneath the holder!

Yes indeed Tim
I did look at those type, there are similar on Amazon!
The one I purchased has steel baskets so I can stick my magnetized tweezers/scissors to the side of the basket.
Second image shows them hanging....need to order some more magnets too stick onto the rest of the tools!
Cheers
Inspired by Balazs at Green Aqua from the below video!
I purchased one of these
Took me about 45 minutes to build.
I'm quite impressed by the quality which is all steel, tools are included which is great.
No missing parts and the packaging was excellent....no scuffs or scratches on the...
Hi Crew
Need a bit of assistance!
I had to remove this fitting from the regulator as it was loose.
When I re-attached it to the regulator do I need to use Gas tape or some sort of sealant?
Cheers!

Okay chaps!
Need a bit of help...regarding an extension USB cable, received the Transformer/Adapter couple of days ago...all good as far as powering on/off!
The cable is tad short .....anyone know which USB extension cable I need?
Cheers hoggie
Yes, the old Transformer/Adapter kept clicking continuously and the light kept flickering....so obviously busted!
Got other regs so not in any rush.
Cheers!
Thanks Andy
I ordered a replacement from Co2 Supermarket....I didn't think they would sell them, but they did!

All good now!
Cheers!👍
This paint will scratch easily......Sand, Paint, Paint, Paint, Seal, Seal, Seal.....especially for an aquarium cabinet!
;)Remember the more coats you put on the doors will be tighter to open!
Hi
You need to sand down lightly the surface you want to paint!
Purchase all round paint...that will adhere to... MOSTLY ALL surfaces....as above!
You will need to do multiple coats so each one cures, don't rush this process!!!
The most important part is use a really good sealer.
And do as...
You could try two things Counter-sink the holes and try drive the screws down further or purchase a cheap 10mm thick Yoga Mat and cut it to fit on top!
Hi
If you have some stem plants just do the below tutorial!

Strangely enough that album was given to me by my first serious Girlfriend in the 70s.....then 45 years later I got this mug as a birthday present last year from her!!
"Smiler" it is apt after cleaning that thing!
;)
Yes, you could but this stuff was baked on....so my method was to spray kitchen towel till wet, leave it over night then give it another spray in the morning!
Have a cuppa then commence cleaning!!!
Should be fine with lots of clean water, filter will be getting packed away into the box as I'm...
Not an expert on RO performance regarding temperature!
I wouldn't bother, just use cold.
If your going to store it use a heater to increase the temperature in the container before you use it!
Or mix with luke warm tapwater!
Hi
I can't tell you but the regulator has an over-pressurized release valve!
Those I have..... never get beyond the usable level on the dial....so I don't know if that valve works?

Hi Crew
I'm looking for a cabinet for my Dennerle Scapers Tank!
It's got to be 90cm tall 40cm wide as it will be in the hall...Silver Grey or Grey colour!
Any ideas would be appreciated!
hoggie
Think one of the problems is although adjustable it's just too powerful for the purpose it was designed for!
You could always put it on a timer.....but you could still have casualties!
Or try packing filter wool in the chamber.

Hi Dave
If you are going to purchase this filter get a euro plug converter!
CDL Micro 2 Pin Euro Plug to 3 Pin UK Mains Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Yes, had one in my Dennerle Scapers Tank 35 Litre "The Red Ring"
There good quality as you would expect from Dennerle!
It's pretty noiseless....;)
I removed it as I had a lot of Hardscape to free up space, changed it to a hang-on filter!
Hi Everyone
I purchased the above regulator a few years back from a member.
There was an attached adapter, which I removed.
I wish to use this regulator on Disposable Co2 bottles!
I noticed there was a grove inside the reg, running up the threads is this normally on a JBL regulator?
I can't...
Hi Andrew
I've been running a Fluval Flex 34 litre through the summer without a heater!
I have some shrimp in there....the average temperature is about 21 degrees at this time of year....I'm not that far away from your location.
I have observed they are not as active at this lower temperature...
Dear Members
A number of members have raised concerns regarding the safety integrity of some adapters supplied with various electrical items!
These usually come with the not so expensive goods from the Far East!
Most of us have had them included with a purchased item for use in the...
If the cabinet was purchased as a discounted item.....with cosmetic damage, scratches, dings, marks etc.
It should still be fit for the purpose purchased for.....which it is not.
Ask for a replacement;).
Stand your ground!!!
