    Need help choosing a substrate

Hi, For the natural river look, you could literally use anything, soils, gravels, mulms, ok, not mulms, but you get what I mean. Seachem do some complete substrates that are not soil to touch, but can look earthy and are good for plants. Normally I would say go for aquasoil, but there are many...

Aquatic shop in London where ADA Aquasoil can be purchased?

Re: Aquatic shop in London where ADA Aquasoil can be purchas There are several shops in the UK now selling ADA products. Our sponsors are the most obvious and ready available. The others are harder to find - i.e smaller independent retailers. They are out there though! The debate for which...

    New substrate-Tropica "nature soil"

Hey, I found out a little more about this product while at Glea on firday with Dan. I had a chat with the guys on the Tropica stand. The product Oliver Knott is using is not a Tropica product, it is his own soil. Tropica ( I think ) are doing some tests on it for him but thats all ( as far as...

    New substrate-Tropica "nature soil"

Looks interesting. Tropica are a quality brand, so it will be interesting to see results and more information. If it is like Aquasoil, to have any chance against ADA, they would have to beat it on price, they may find it hard to recrute the hardcore ADA fans I think. If it does the same job and...

    ada?

Hi ADA Aqua soil is by far for weight and volume, much better value for money, not to mention the quality of plant growth. Eco Complet is relatively inert, Aquasoil will soften your water to a point, so is great for the Amazon black water fish like Discus and Altums etc. Eco Complete would be a...

    AS Powder...

For a 60cm, go for the normal grade. The powder is great for very fine root plants like HC,and for tiny nano's. You have to think about the weight of the water, normal will carry that weight better than powder. You will grow everything you want in the normal, it crumbles up some what anyway, so...

    Powersand question

No you don't. Its a personal choice, so do what your happy with. I have no doubt that you can grow plants with or with out some kind of biological media, so its just a case of if you believe it will help and if its worth the effort then have a go. Ide say it cant hinder growth it can only help...

Substrate for a large tank - Ecocomplete plus what else?

Re: Substrate for a large tank - Eco complete plus what else? If its the black echo complete, you could by a few sacks of Unipacs Limpopo, which is black and looks just like Eco complete. Mix the two together, hey presto, you have the quantity of substrate you want. You may have to ask for the...

    Powersand question

Hi guys, Ive planted up a small tank in the Green Machine recently. I work the substrate with an influence from ADA's notion of thinking. When setting it up, I added a layer of Tropica substrate, then a layer of SERA syporax mini filter media granules and the Zambezi sand over the top of that...

    Potted plant sunstrate

Yes greate to have you registerd Diana. If its a case of having a lily to fit the aquascape, simply cut off the leavs as they grow, or when the get to big, sounds like hard work trying to restric a lily, almost saying you wany a Bosai lilly. Crazy, just prune so fit the scape, IMO. :D Graeme.
