    maybe its just me..

I know the feeling. Ive only been back one week and I have a 5000 word project to do of my choice and one that is a 3000 word essay on Tourism in the Countryside. Plus 5 more over the coming months. AND I have to pay for it, over £2K for this year alone. I must be mad. My 5000 word essay is...

Thanks. I am a very busy chap these days. Ive just started my 3rd year degree in Countryside Conservation and Recreation management. Good links for ADA "Mini" series tanks?

Hi Tom, In responce to your PM ive had a quick look in my ADA book case and pulled THE journal out with the first grab - nice! Ive tried to find an online link from a UK shop that link to it, but there is none. TGM most likely to have it as far as I know, but you might want to ring and ask...

Aquascaping article on Daily Mail site

This is very nice to see in such a high profile website and its connected name. We only have James Star-Marshall to thank for thrusting aquascaping to the masses in the way he has. Without his contacts, energy and fantastic other half ( Jenny ) people would still of never heard of "the...

    Just got back from TGM...

I always use carbon and ammonia remover now when setting up. This helps a lot IMO. If I was you, I would dose 1ml of TPN and 1/2ml of TPN+ after your daily water changes. Or even give it 2ml and bin the TPN+ for now. Remember, you tap water will be high in N too, so adding more is probably not...

    Just got back from TGM...

Yes, I use all 3. I wouldnt mix them, just dose them separately. For example. In my 30cm, I dont 2ml of brighty K, 3ml of TPN and 1ml of TPN+. I use old ADA bottle to give me accurate dosing amounts. When I first plant up, I only ever dose EasyCarbo and brighty K (and Co2) for the first...

    Just got back from TGM...

As far as ive ever been aware, and after talking to they bods at Tropica, I have been and have sold advice that says TPN has no K. N,P and trace, thats all. If you make your own up, then you can make it with K. My slant on adding K, is that it stimulates photosynthesis, and that it is not a...

    bigger tanks...harder?

My biggest planted tank has been 1800l. Not in some ways it is more physically harder, having to get inside to aquasape it, but in others, the principles are the same. With a big tank, you can really get stuck in and scrub around and it soon looks as if nothing has been touch, where as a nano...

Hi Alan, My critique .... Your stones are not working with your scape, especially the odd colored one to the right. You can mix rock and wood, but you can mix different types or wood or rock. Also, the stones look out on their own, they may look better nestled at the base of your wood, as if...

    One last try

If you have an accurate reading of KH and PH, then you know exactly what your Co2 is doing. Your drop checker may not be very accurate.... If the drop checker goes to yellow, then even if you PH keeps falling then it still stays yellow. Test kits will give a better idea of what is going on. Try...

    Nano questions :)

Hi spanerman. All seems okay there. My only question is your substrate. Why are you looking to use cat litter? And I would avoid sand if you can help it. In my experience sand results in compact, black toxic pockets in the substrate. For such a small tank, I would consider buying a dedicated...

Whats the life span of your aquascape?

Hi all. After some interesting chats with fellow aquascapers a question came to mind. How long do people give their aquascapes to mature? What is a mature aquascape to you? Are there any great female aquascapers?

Heres my opinion. Speaking generally. Women are social creatures, they seem to get excited about seeing friends, catching up on the gossip or watching TV.
