I've used manado with shrimp before with no problems, however, it does tend to wash the colour a little due to it being so orange. If you can get hold of any soils near you then these are great for shrimp.

I know I was getting 6 for a tenner a year ago as now. Maybe the sales of more colourful shrimp, and the likes of the cherry shrimp breeding really easily has had an impact on trade?

I asked the same thing the other day...there doesn't seem to be any anywhere. Well, there is unless you're prepared to pay £4 a shrimp!

I kept crs and bred them at 400ppm, Lincolnshire tap water. I'm sure these shrimp aren't as sensitive as others make out.

They normally fly in and lay eggs in the tank.

but that kind of food needs Brackish water to survive. The shrimp don't actually need Brackish water, it's the food the shrimp need from my understanding.

I got 2 months out of mine, this was with re mineralised RO water, Ph6.8, Gh 8. I won't be doing it again. I got mine from my local MA, they do some ace shrimp, they were £8 each.

i was told that the micro crabs pick off baby shrimp Gill, is that true? The have them in my local MA for £3 each, was thinking about it for my nano.

I agree, but the sellers won't do this without concrete evidence, although many of us guessed right and kew who the seller is/was, all this is still anecdotal. I think it's safe for us to say that most plants get bought in with sponge and leaded weights around the bottom are in fact shipped from...

I have read that this is becoming a more and more common problem, especially as shrimp tanks are becoming more and more popular. This is more reason for me to stick to Tropica and Aquafluer. At least we know what we're getting with these plants. The seller should at least state that the plants...

sorry, the bubbles are just going straight out of the top of the tank, they are not being dispersed around the tank.

cheers and thanks Basil, i wondered whether they were S grades but wasn't to sure. They are small at the moment, about 1cm, they were from my local MA, 3 for £18, which wasn't bad i thought.

I picked some CRS up a few days ago and have been having a look around, but can't decide on the grade of them...help! there are 6 in all and all around these colourings. Sorry about the photo quality.

so will there be other colour morphs if they do breed with the cherries?

they are a really vivid yellow already and they have only been in for a few hours. They have some really interesting shrimp at my local MA at the moment. They have some decent CRS, White Bee shrimp and Ninja shrimp.

I got 6 of these from my local MA today, there's not a great deal of info on the net about them. I just wondered whether many of you had kept them before and do they breed in freshwater?
