cheers for that...i have been messing about with it for a week, to try and turn it down. Theres a good little app as well, the Imovie app, which you can splice and cut vids together, fade in and fade out. It's quite a neat little app.

    Flickr vs Photobucket

hahaha! I don't know whether it has anything to do with the compression of the pics?? I wonder whether this is why you oly get a small amount of space free as well. edit...Flickr is deffo sharper.

    Flickr vs Photobucket

I have just signed up to Flickr, i don't know why, just for a change lol. I have found the pics when uploaded to Flickr to be more clear and crisp. Is there an obvious difference between the two photo storage sites?? I uploaded this a few weeks back with Photobucket and it didn't look half as...

    Taking crisp pictures?

i use a tripod and the 'f' is 3.5-5.6 on the kit lens. Surely i can get a better pic than a point and shoot with that?

    Taking crisp pictures?

I thought i'd start a topic regarding, taking a really 'crisp' pic of the aquarium using just the light from the fish tank. I'm currently using a DSRL kit lens (i know no the best), but i'm getting at best the same shots as my cheap point and shoot. Outside pics are second to none, and portraits...

    Ultra-wide angle (UWA) and aquascaping

this came third, and this is the largest pic i have found courtesy of http://my-aquatic-world.blogspot.com/20 ... ayout.html having a look through some pics, there is some bad photography that got ranked high.

    Ultra-wide angle (UWA) and aquascaping

see, when i look at this pic, the first thing i see is the hardscape, the last thing i looked at was the actual tank. Now, i probably wouldn't have bothered looking at the actual glass tank in we weren't talking about UWA. The tank looks like a shallow cube doesn't it? it's a pity there's not a...

    Ultra-wide angle (UWA) and aquascaping

agree there John, regarding the manipulation side of things. It would be interesting to see how far things can be manipulated though. As a relative newcomer to the slr stuff and experimentation, using photoshop on a tank shot is quite hard to 'actually' manipulate though (colours maybe and...

    Ultra-wide angle (UWA) and aquascaping

the image isn't altered that much though has it? It's still what you'd see. I always find that most aquariums actually look better in the flesh than in the pics anyway, even if they have been shot with various lenses. For me, these kind of pics have just pushed me further into photography. It...

    Ultra-wide angle (UWA) and aquascaping

looks great George, can i ask a silly question? Do tamron lenses fit all SLR's? are they universal fits? I have seen some cheap Tamrons in the 'London camera exchange', i'm not going to get one yet, but need to start saving for one.

    New Sony a380

as an entry level slr, i'm finding it easy to use. I would steer away from the a230 though as it doesn't have a live view mode. As a beginner i think live view is a handy thing to have. Saying that i haven't used it that much. The pic quality is very good though. The screen on the back has mini...
