    smallest carpeting plant

Thanks victor, that helps clear things up, much appreciated. Although the Elaine does look wonderful in your pics it doesn't look as dense as Hc. Is that correct or hasn't the carpet in those pics matured fully? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ok thanks, I have it in my head that Hc Cuba is my best option, just throwing the question out there unless I'd missed a better option. Thanks for the suggestions Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    smallest carpeting plant

Not after anything finicky. It needs to work first time, this is a tank in my office. My trial and error days are long gone. Had my fill of riccia over the years. I need a well rooted plant that will spread through substrate and over rocks. Not float away and need redoing every couple of...

    smallest carpeting plant

Going on google image pics Marseilles crenata aquarium search it still looks bigger than Hc Cuba, more like glosso. It needs to be tight and compact for the look I'm after, is it really smaller and more compact than Hc. Sorry to doubt but once I've chosen the carpet plant I'm committed. Need to...

Just googled and if that's four leaved clover then not too keen, looks a bigger leaf size than Hc. Am I looking at the wrong thing? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    smallest carpeting plant

quick question, im looking for a very dense low growing carpeting plant for my new tank (pics in journal uploaded today.) i was thinking HC but is there anything else i should be considering? its a shallow tank so i want low profile growth to keep the sense of scale. suggestions on a postcard...

    Anubias barteri

Hi Johnny, Just cut the Rhizome making sure at least 2 leaves remain on each section. if the original plant is big enough you may get more than 2 plants out of it. each section will regrow into a new plant, be it very slowly. use a sharp knife for best results, do not crush the Rhizome.

    Growing Raccia

link to thread  if you just want to grow loads then just leave it to float and it will use atmospheric co2 so no need to inject. as to ferts you could add a small amount of general trace ferts but IMO not totally necessary for just growing it out. plenty of light and lots of water...

    Growing Java Fern and Bolbitis

they are also huge nitrate sponges. in an old school zero nitrate tank they will not do well. i'm sure you are using EI so maybe up the nitrate a little. just a thought. this one is definatly no older than 2 years. itwas georges, this pic was taken just after i bought it from him. it did suffer...

    Java Fern fixing.

yep, cotton thread wrapped around the wood trapping the riozome as you go. the riozome must be free to spread, thats where the new growth comes from.

    Amazon sword

maybe but he has ecocomplete substrate so i wouldassume from that it's a water column thing. are you not adding macro's at all? even though it's relativly low light with the co2 in there they will be growing faster than you expect. i'd add potassium nitrate if i were you. i have seen my swords...

    starting riccia

crystalwort comes from the effect you get when the submerged riccia produced oxygen bubbles on the tips. see pic below. it looks like a bed of crystals in your tank. i will be writing a how-to riccia thread very soon so keep a look out. i could spend all day answering this post but cant right...

    Amazon sword a bit pale?

Hi There, There's certainly nothing major to worry about but i can see that the veins are quite white. they should ideally be the same colour as the leaves. This is a nutrient deficiency of some kind but not necessarily just iron. you should buy some general liquid trace element fertaliser and...

    Hemianthus micranthemoides growth rate....

i'd say average in my opinion. i had some in my rekord 60 for ages. from pruning down to 4 inches it would grow to about 8 inches when i'd prune again in about 2 weeks. if that helps. ie ~2 inches a week in 2.5 WPG with CO2 and laterite/gravel substrate. nice plant though, gives a sence of...
