    Lighting for 60x45x30 Optiwhite

How about an All Pond Solutions unit? I have been looking at those, prices seem pretty reasonable

    Which light fixture is better....

I disagree, I don't think the ATI is any less reliable or lower quality than Giessemann. I know a lot of people who use the ATI powermodule in the reefing world and they have nothing but high praise for them

    actinic lighting vs algae growth

I've always been told actinic promote algae. This sounds like a job for clive!

    Juwel t5 HO

Arcadia do J5 tubes which fit the juwel t5 fittings, and I'm pretty sure Sera do some which fit too. You can't use the cheap generic ones from lampspecs though unfortunately, which is a major pain

    Brackets for luminaires

Those look pretty good Steve! I've always had this issue, as we rent so we can't drill into the walls / ceiling to hang a lighting unit, and that might be just the solution

    t5 or t8

    Bit of basic maths, diameter = circumference / pi 3 / 3.141 = 0.95 = near enough 1" diameter therefore T8

    Jewel T5 high-lite.

Arcadia do J5 Plant pro tubes which fit the juwel t5 fittings, and are about half the price of the juwel t5 tubes (~£15 each iirc)
  14. Joecoral

    t5 or t8

I dont understand, you bought it with a t8 unit, but you dont know if they are t8's? t8 tubes are 1" in diameter, the same thickness as the striplights most people have in their kitchens/garage, whereas t5 is a thinner tube, only 5/8ths of an inch in diameter (the t-number refers to how many...

juwel high light tubes - replacable

Both Sera and Arcadia make tubes which fit the Juwel Hi-Lite unit

    Lighting an 8'x2'x2'?

A watt is a watt, its just a measure of energy. A single 150W halide bulb costs the same to run as 150W of T5 bulbs
