Do you know what kelvin they are? In my experience LEDs have always trumped t5's they don't look as bright to the human eye but the par and directed light output means plant growth should be a lot higher than with t5's In this respect you can't really trust your eyes, brighter to you isn't...

No all the channels are dimmable mate! Just the first 6 go on one timer with one sunrise and sunset. And the other two channels run in another timer. For instance I have 4 lights coming on at 10am that turn up from 0% to 100% over a 2 hour period turning off at 8pm over two hours (channel 1)...

Hmm it uses every channel with the storm mode and runs 6 on one with the remaining 2 on another channel. I use 6 strips over a 55 gallon and works well for me but I understand what you mean about smaller setups! The 1% is pretty bright too would be nice of you could moonlight it at 0.2% like...

In the end I ramped my lighting up to 100% to stop the whining it's coloured up a few of my broms which I'm happy about but I still have to deal with 4 hours of whining from the light units a day, still I don't notice it much anymore unless I'm trying to get a very early night!

Anti I use two TMC powerbox 400 filters, the 8 channel controller and 6 of their lighting units (only 4 of the 600's) I'll certainly ask them if I can't deal with the noise.

Hmm these little strip light aren't useful for growing anything I bought off the same seller and there just not worth it. Get a Desk lamp with a LED bulb for it.

Its a shame, i've lost a lot of respect for them after this review....Why write something off so completely when the results of many 'serious' plant growers have had expectational results...

I had a glosso carpet growing well in my old tank that was 40cm tall using just two tmc aqua-rays. I'm now growing some high light carpeting plants in my new setup at around 20" deep. It's early days but I know there putting down roots quickly!
