Aquarium silicone can be bought for under £9 a tube online, so I wouldn't risk it myself... You're going to be putting a lot of high value flora and fauna in the tank, so is saving a couple of quid on a tube of silicone worth the risk? Just my 2p worth...

As per this thread, I'm planning on using my Neptune Aquacontroler that I have left over from my reef tank to control my new tank... This measures temperature, pH and can measure redox, but I have never bought this probe... In the reef tank the temperature control was for the heaters and fans...
