I have one of these. Best auto-feeder I have ever had. Especially as they provide you with velcro to secure it to the brace bar. Most of my old ones stopped working after a swim :thumbdown:

It does say the CO2 in tap water is responsible for the algae trigger... So I would imagine that if you let it stand before using it the CO2 will gas off until it reaches equilibrium with the atmosphere?

Certainly does... Very quickly too...

I always used Loctite Superglue Gel in my reef tank... Less runny so easier to handle... Reefers also use it in-situ in the tank, as in dip your arm in the tank, apply the glue under water, hold the things together for 30 seconds, job done... Never had any ill effects to my fish and corals...

I'm following this thread with great interest as my next tank will be a similar size... But 100kg or substrate!!! That's gonna sting the wallet... I still have painful memories of buying the sand for my 6 x 3 x 2 reef tank many years ago...

Re: My venture into my new 760 ltr aquariam. That's a brilliant price for CO2... When I had a reef tank I had to go to an aquatic supplier for refils... I think they were about £25 then... Sounds a brilliant project... Best of luck with it...
