Hi Guys, I keep around 2-3 spices of stiphodon in my planted tank... I saw the ones off ebay and brought them they are not the Stiphodon percnopterygionus BUT they are Stiphodon Red Neon the commons one you see in the shop. Andy what shop sells them in birmingham?

How many litres is it? Fighter fish will be good. You could try amano shrimp with the fighter. Microrasbora would be a great shoaling fish.

Finally after several trys i have finally got BETTA EGGS :D At least they are still spawning while i am typing this :lol:

I have hard water in my house and i was wondering if anyone has used aquasoil to make the water soft for cardinals tetras.

Disaster struck, i lost one female in trying to breed them and the male has very riped up fins at the moment. The male is recovering. I could save the female i did everything i could to save her :(

Thanks for all the comments :thumbup: They are both feeding well and hope to put them in the breeding tank on friday. I feed the pair some baby brine shrimp. The female seems to respond to it more proberly because she was tank raised.

If you want a centre piece fish you could try a male betta or a pair of Rams.

check you C02 levels.

My lfs said they mainly stock males because stiphodons are still no too popular and people dont buy the females because they are not colourfull. Its ashame because i am always on the hunt for females :?

For the stiphodons I would only go for a pair because if you had more the may start to fight. All spieces are fine. I think they dont eat shrimp check Andyh's jornals. Wafers are good and they still may eat fish flakes and pellets when they sink. I heared they are shorted lived so about 2 years...

What about a male betta. There easy to keep and they can grab your attension.

Mirorasboras I have kept a couple in my nano and they shoal good. Look at Andy's jornal "Deep Rooted" he has lots in there.

hi i have lowered the c02 and they are doing better now. They ear well. They eat algae, i feed them algea wafers and sometimes feed them brine shrimp. I'll lower the temp and see how they get on.

I brought quite alot of bettas from aquabid. If you do buy bettas use a transhipper to avoid paying fines. Most of the seller are good. If you need anymore info just ask me :D
