Tetra Complete Substrate, to cap or not to cap?

Welcome to the forum!!! I did cap it with sand. When I pulled up any plants it would cloud the tank up a bit so I would think it does need capping. If this is a problem you could always take it back? The dwarf puffer (and perhaps the betta) will eat the cherry shrimp. Could be an...

    Amazonia aqua soil II

I think Paulo would definitely agree with you Milla. I think a lot of people on here have have used the regular I, I haven't noticed anyone using the II tbh. Go for the I / regular if you can change your order :)

    Oliver Knott Substrate

£50 for substrate!!! Craziness, I thought aquasoil at £27.99 from AE was bad. Now I can only find it at TGM for £33.99  even worse!

TetraPlant Complete Substrate - some questions?

The tetraplant complete substrate... that you need to top with another substrate... not really complete then is it?!? I used to have this. It was in a low-tech set-up and was fine. The recommended depth I found was far too shallow. I found that when I tried to plant things it kicked up tons of...

    Changing the substrate

Yeah I worked it out to be 2 bags. I believe different ones have different nutrient levels and colours. There should be a thread about it. I would do a search but you can only do one every 20 seconds or so so give me a few minutes...

    Changing the substrate

Personally I haven't used aquasoil, but since being stingy and buying aquaclay which is £14.99 a bag vs aquasoils £27.99 I am regretting it. Plus everyone seems to have awesome results with it. Amano obviously uses it which is the biggest plus, now arguably his second Tom Barr recommends using...

    Changing the substrate

For that price you might as well go for aquasoil which is the top notch stuff. Having two substrate types may be nice for all of 5 minutes but it mixes readily, perhaps ruining the effect you wanted to create.

    Sub on the cheap

Is there any way to get the rest of these messages back? It means the thread doesn't make that much sense anymore. ---- Cheers!!!
