I've never really seen a Vivarium in real life, but there were plenty on show. This one in particular. For me, extremely inspiring, and realistic in appearance

There should be plenty of images posted. Ferry trips are always fun. They remind me of my band days, travelling in and out of Europe on a regular basis, but to do it for Aquascaping is great. Here's Paulo (londondragon) taking in some of Dans humour. and here's the great DC himself.

I guess like me, you've wondered how cool it would be to be jollying off around Europe doing shows?... I can tell you, it's HARD! Firstly my hat now goes off to the guys, Dan, George & co. It's just relentless, tiresome and just generally hard work, mentally and physically. More on that later...

I've started a new thread for todays (20th nov) meet. An incredibly great day, with huge thanks to Ed, Pete, Stu and crew. Louise was my little 'helper' :lol: feeding the near 350 rummy nose tetras. This is just a short clip, but I'll put together the other clips i have of the fish...

An extremely valid point James. I never really considered that, but yes, it could well put some brits out the frame...apart from Zig and Graeme when the time arrives.

it's doable mate. A similar aim for myself also. I'm sure in 5 more years, our knowledge should be up there with the best. one of the reasons I don't enter now, is because of current scapes of mine are just no where near up to scratch for the top 100

over sharpened maybe. they may look better at their fullest resolution. sharpening, or over doing it can look horrid. I personally rely on what comes out of the camera.

i'm sorry, but again, there's some really strange positions/placements for certain tanks. I know of a few UK tanks that are better than certain tanks that placed higher(i wont point out the tanks on the link, i think youll see yourself) I just don't think there's the care gone into the...

but that's what forums are for. A 12 months for some not posting tanks, then have thread that may last what?...a month? to help teach? 12 months is better than 1 in my book (goes back to corner)

cant agree more. I'm stepping away from the NA style I think. it's been great to learn a few things from the real master Amano, but I'm going to start designing tanks, the way I want to do it.

but only the entrants would see the FTS no? still, the majority of people wouldn't see them, and for me, that's the whole point. The hobby wont expand if some of the worlds best wont show their scapes to help inspire, due to 'rules' so as it was mentioned earlier in the thread, as people who...

I think the UK profile is expanding anyway. UKAPS is by far one of the best forums worldwide, just because people don't enter competitions, it doesn't mean their selfish would you like the UK profile to increase for better or for worse? :angel:

i don't have a scape to enter. not unless i enter the half complete miracle mire, or maybe my MA scape, but then its the "full tank shot" debate. the purpose of the MA scape is to get the word out there. not to hoard on to images. so maybe i'll skip events this year. its good to see another...
