Eco Lamps KR90FW- Freshwater led unit

Excellent Al, really impressive lights with a really nice colour rendition. I actually quite like the light fall off at either end. I like the depth it gives to your scape, highlighting the middle perfectly. They look well made too! Nice one.

Can output of LED's be converted in an understandable way?

Hey Jomega, Yep, mines 8k for plants, but they'll grow in Anything. Just Aesthetically the 8k gives me a wide range of colour spectrums from orange to light blue. Cheers, N

Can output of LED's be converted in an understandable way?

My maxspect razor 160w apparently outperforms a 400w halide. With a very similar setup to what you describe. I'd say a rough pound for pound measurement is 3x t5. ..but, par is what matters, and is highly variable, setup to setup. From Maxspect Website:

    Maxspect Razor 8000K

Just got back and Put the settings up to your levels Gary, and in that range it's amazing how much 1% on the blue channel makes. You can see a clear change with each percentage click. Without greenage in the tank, it's hard to say which I prefer. But I think your very close, if not spot on...

Hey mate, mines still not up and running. Due to a 'house sale' I postponed setting up my tank, so decided the cabinet wasn't as urgently required. We're moving March 1st so will aim to have it up by then. Anyway, I find the range on the unit staggering. And I think your about right with...

    Razor LEDS

Hey, I'd be inclined to say very good, but I've yet to set them up on my tank. Colour rendition is great, and very adjustable. From a sunset orange glow to a bright crisp white and on towards a light blue. Lights are brighter than you'll ever need them to be, but will be good if you plan to do...

Lights for ADA Mini M - low tech?

Enough for a wild night out for me..
  13. Nathaniel Whiteside

What photoperiod do our plants really need ?

So, to summarise, there is no hard and fast answer. Depends on your setup, how quickly you want your plants to grow, how much money you have to get gas refills & nutrients, how much time you desire to spend on maintenance, how much you want to pay for electricity. You could light 24/7 if you...
  14. Nathaniel Whiteside

    Do PSUs use electricity?

Hey, One channel has Warm white(3,000k). and daylight (8,000k) colours, the other has Daylight and Blue (445-465nm) So one channel can be used more than the other. If the A channel is used at 100% and the B channel at 0% the look is very warm and orangey yellow like a sunrise, which you can...

Effects on PAR - Air and Water

Ha, I thought this would be the response. There must be a 'standard' for 100% clarity water. It's far beyond my knowledge. How did you find the light Yo-Han? Was it bright? Mines arriving tomorrow :)

    Need help in selecting light

Apparently Plants are not effected by change of spectrum whatsoever. Spectrum only changes how the tank looks to you, with higher 15-20k giving Blue, often used in marine tanks. 6-8000 being yellower and representing a more daylight feel and a lower for example your 4000 increasing the red and...

    Best Lighting for Fluval Ebi?

Okay, The algae your experiencing tells me that your lights are too bright or are on too long. Co2 is okay with shrimp, but up it slowly. I would advise against Liquid forms or carbon though. TMC Aquaray 8 way controller

No, 3 Tiles on one and one on another. The 3 you could have together on your 90 and have one on a tank next to it say. Or alternatively, you could use two on each if the photoperiods are the same. Or have a staggered photoperiod on one. The possibilities are not as limited as you think...
