Re: My emersed setup - flowers
Awesome Tom. Maybe worth replacing the lid with clingfilm and slowly increase the opening over the space of a month to 'break in' the plants. This will mean you won't get the annoying condensation. It worked for my IKEA kilner jar but that has a smaller opening so...
This sounds spot on and looks like its paid off with some excellent growth
On the 'scaping side of things you may want to be bolder with your rocks or you may lose quite a lot of it under the carpet of HC when it bulks out.
Yeah that will help, as you say you'll lose some through evaporation. The soil will stay surprisingly moist without the water being at surface level as it rises from the bottom through capillary action. You can obviously see if the soil is moist enough anyways because it will be a darker...

Cheers Aaron :D I'll keep you posted either on this or my journal.
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it! They are Crystal Reds indeed, I'm hoping to get some more higher grades soon when the weather gets warm enough to get them posted. I'm also hoping to make this tank less cluttered with...
Just thought I'd give Cyperus Helferi a go to grow emersed. I know it usually needs CO2 to do well submerged but as its out in the air it shouldn't have any issues? I was thinking of using an atomiser to keep the emersed part from drying out, do you think I need to do this or am I...
