Eheim Pro 3 - worst Eheim ever?

No it is a solvent that will literally melt the 2 pieces of plastic back together. I'd be concerned about hot gluing something that could dump half my tank on the floor....

Eheim Pro 3 - worst Eheim ever?

I'd try plastic cement rather than hot glue, and as suggested silicone grease will be better for the seals. If you can get your hands on dow corning dc4 or equivalent would be good as I've found a lot of the cheaper stuff tends to be very runny

Eheim Pro 3 - worst Eheim ever?

You'll struggle to get enough grip with normal needle nose pliers, if you haven't got vise-grips I'd try a set of normal pliers as they will grip better. If they are directly into the plastic then they should come out fairly easily without wd40, all the wd40 will do is make the screw more...

Eheim Pro 3 - worst Eheim ever?

You won't drill those out easily. The drill will want to wander off into the plastic, you'd have to use a very short drill and a drill press. There should be just enough sticking out to get a set of needle nose vise-grips on there and wind them out.

    TETRATEC EX 1200 General consensus?

Why not just replace the primer button oring? Ime(which in this area is fairly extensive;)) once an oring is knackered nothing you can do will make it seal like simply replacing it. I'd go for a new diaphragm while you're at it. Install with plenty of grease(which I doubt the factory does) and...

    Gyre pumps?

I've read a user review on another forum today and at 50% power it started shifting the substrate at the opposite end of their 60x24x24 inch tank in a major way. They ended up with it a 20% power.

    Eheim 2213 Noise

I have this same issue with mine and John Allen Aquariums pretty much said its normal, the bloke I spoke to said its a common complaint. I went through 3 trying to sort the issue out. Apparently since they shifted production to china they havent been the same. Most of the noise comes from the...

    From Trickle to Eheim 600

Lol sure is. The easier you make it for yourself the more likely you are to clean it, especially true for those eheim classics. Id recomend getting a set of disconnect taps if it doesnt come with them.

    From Trickle to Eheim 600

    From Trickle to Eheim 600

I just use the blue foam and plastic bioballs, cheap and easy to maintain with minimal loss of flow.

    Noisy Eheim 2213

There dosent seem to be any major damage just some very faint grooves barely detectable to the touch where the black marks are. This was taken out of a brand new filter before it had even been run. Darrel have any of yours looked like this after long term running or being run dry?

    Noisy Eheim 2213

I'm having the same issues with mine from the get go. I've just had it apart and there seems to be wear on the shaft and play between it and the impeller. 3 days old!!!!! Seems people have been getting german made replacement shaft and impellers and no issues after that.

    Planted Filter

Hi All, Im after the name or thread it was in, of the type of filter that sat on top of a tank and used roof guttering full of gravel that was then planted. Any help would be appreciated.

    Filter cleaning

I clean my JBL e1500 monthly by dumping my biomedia(bioballs) in a bucket of tank water and washing all the sponges out under the tap. Idealy you need to keep your bio and mech filtration as separate entities so you can wash/replace you mech as often as required to keep flow up without affecting...

    Glassware

Any chance of a pic of the tool it may be that it is to rough still. Direction of rotation will probably affect it aswell. The most important thing will the amount of pressure applied and that the tool is not to rough any vibration will shatter the glass especially with a carbide/diamond tool...

    Glassware

Very carefully  Depends on which type it is ive seen a few and I think the easiest to enlarge would be the ones with vertical slots you could then lengthen the slots without making them wider. I would use a dremel type tool with a very fine (the finer the better) stone or sand paper disk...

    Glassware

Checked mine and the ehiem intake is smaller diameter then the ehiem hose as well. So diameter shouldn't be the problem. The amount or way the holes on the intake a shaped is more likely to be causing the problem.I was looking at marine overflows the other day and came across a rule about flow...
