Agreeing or not agreeing does not change the situation unfortunatelly and this is sad truth. 3-4 active with skills to compete in IAPLC and get top 100. Might sound harsh but this is the reality.
If you let me comment about the limit on both tank size and limit on entries. The limit on top size in not quite necessary as it is very unlikely that you would get flooded with such size entries and on the other side if you ge any it is deserved to be seen. Planted aquariums of this size are...
10£ fee is a good idea to stop goldfish bowl entries as someone said. On the other hand number of entries could be unlimited and goldfish gang sponsoring and promoting the comp :) Dont think its introduced to pay for prizes as to get 250 entries is very optimistic. Plus they have to work hard at...
Why would you need to know the company? They are one of the biggest wholesalers in the trade so we should not know them. To organise something like this takes a lot of work and lets admit the prizes are very good. First year will be trial and error but it should improve in the future. One thing...
A revised feedback after a long testing period.
Verdict: piece of junk in most cases unfortunately.
I had different feeling about it with some moments of excitment also but in the end it is what it is. The unit might do the job but diffusers are well to fragile. Damn the things you cannot do...
A very wrong plant selection for a shop display aquarium. I bet they are dreaming nightmares about the stems :)
You want it to look good more or less all the time if its the only planted in the shop so strong middground with occasional slower growing stems at the back. Replanting the stems, not...
The price wont be 1$ to 1£. It will be normal exchange. Plus if I am not mistaken the price includes delivery to your door. Dont quote me on that though. Stu you will have to eat some hats :p I think it is still manufactured in Europe so it should make things easier. There is no need to import...
You lot (aquascapers) is a tiny part of the industry :p plus a very demanding one :) so companies cant really count on it. However I have noticed a lot of bigger german brands developing more aquascaping products during Interzoo visit. Denerrle, Tropica, JBL, most likely others also are all...
So the difference is double.
No particular obsession with full setups. But it looks much better with bigger items to be complete (lights, tank and and cabinet). Its all personal choice in the end surely. I have always placed high demand on design. I understand its not everyones choice. Hope...
Hmm ok. But yes ES600 is not enough for 90. Having a light with only 1 metal halide? No thanks.
Here we go again. Can do this can do that, can get cabinet elsewhere etc. Then its not a full system and the point is lost :)
Yet to see anything close to Aquavas cabinet quality.
The filter is...
You have selected wrong lights and forgot lily pipes :pit would be interesting to see the price comparison of a full TMC system. something tells the price might surprise few sceptics.
Controllable enough for scapers. Plus replaceable if it busts. How many solid units had to be returned cause of faults?
There was no business model yet. Its just starting now.
I do honestly hope George will bring changes but it all comes to money. Quality things are expensive to manufacture so I...
Take a deep breath and look what you get with the package guys ;)
120 does have 2 LED lighting units. Although there is an option to get it without the filter you pay only 200£ for a stainless steel one with japanese pump!
Try to put 120 ADA system together, it will go over 5k. TMC and Aquavas...
To be honest there is no shop in this country which is worth visiting for an aquascaper. For planted aquarist maybe. Kind of surprising with strong economy and higher buying ability.
Charterhouse is not worth a visit sorry. Been there. Nothing a scaper with a year of experience couldnt do.
Sad.
Ye, certainly plants have to be best shape to ship. But lots can happen in transit. Its very interesting to hear such a bad feedback. Would have thought they have to be on top with tough competition these days. We need greenaqua branch in London ;)Its weird that they send different plants...
All i know it is extremely difficult to maintain a 100% feedback. We are deeling with perishable items here especially in regards of plants. I am sure any online NA supplier would be on top of their service with dry goods or advice but give the guys a break with live plants. The pricing policy...
Try household limescale remover.
I do really like my Twinstars now. Been sceptical I must admit. I do want them in all my tanks now. They are not magic but they do what they claim. My maintenance has reduced and both hardscape rock and glass are much cleaner now.
I have been talking with...
I have tried to find out how to safely clean with something different than superge. Heard Twinstar is releasing special liquid soon.
On the feedback note I am loving my 2 units and would like them in every tank now :(
Having more than 5 aquariums with co2 does not help!
All the way for Londonbeergas. Yes the start is expensive but if you are in for a long journey makes it worth. Its by the way 24£ for either 3.15 or 6.35kg (same price). The problem of the larger bottles they are higher than usual and wont fit standard cabinets. Oustanding next day free delivery...
PFK nominations are total fix and should be ignored! Its all business. AE dont advertise and dont get it.
If you look at a shrimp retailers a runner up was nominated a shop which even DOES NOT EVEN SELL SHRIMP OR SHRIMP PRODUCTS plus has no clue about shrimp.
That is all said... Well done PFK...
Man, you should get your basics covered first and then possibly look into the substrates. Basics are co2 and nutrients. Not even light. Spending money on substrates would be my last thing on the list for the planted aquarium!
I did not complain about people saying it does not work. I am fed up about people calling it snake oil or anything else really and even more about people saying shops are trying to sell snake oils. That is was what it read.
Sorry if I got it wrong.
In all history the majority of the ordinary crowd were in DENIAL with new things. Its ok people, its quite common for us mortals.
Only the bravest made there ways  while the rest were sleeping.
There are many more ways to make money than selling snake oils these days and people feel very...
Haha some fun. If you do manage to get it out Miranda you are up for a prize from me. A glass pipe with same blahblahblahblah happened :)
Its not htat bad as Ians, the brush is stuck in the bend.
Yes I have read that topic. To some degree you are right saying about number of factors. From this device I would expect quite easily noticable results though.
Anyways. Very typical reaction of the public to all things new. :)
On the other hand, why would a company create such an expensive device which would not work or be a total snake oil? Its amazing how easy it is to talk and bash it before it was even tested by anyone. I agree it cost a lot otherwise it would be tested already by more people.
Until then its just...
Balls balls balls. Now that is a surprise. It could be seen coming though. Perhaps London and particularly Olympia is just too expensive to run something like that. It was too expensive for exhibitors and organisers likewise. Lots of silly restrictions in law as well, fish sales as an example...
If you are plant lover...
1) Add DIY co2 which cost you 1 spoon of sugar, 70-90p for yeast from any food shop and an empty fizzy drink botle. Google it
2)Add all the maintenance which comes with co2 not forgeting some sort of all in one fertiliser. Google it
3)Add easy foreground plant...
Not in there no, the only place would be at home but again it will have to win the space with current plans to get a 6ft high tech tank soon  Just waiting for the rent contract renewal haha.
And who said Manzi is better than Redmoor?
Check this out guys, watched like 10 times this weekend, found accidentallly while searching for vivariums paludariums as want to build one myself at home:
Ant the timelapse:
Victor be smart and dont get involved further in this.
I really wish admins review this and get Aquadream banned from ukaps as it happened on ASW before. Comes iaplc and here you have this man screeming again all over the world making a mess. I dont actually remember reading even one topic...
Got mine on Saturday. Is it just me or there is an issue with sharpness? Dont want to sound to critique as the works displayed and what CAU had done over the years is impressive.
Hi, dimensions sound good. I would go for full opti though and clear silicon. For same saving reasons. You might want to sell it one day and it will be easier. Plus a benefit of blue shine in glass all round.
Substrate wise if you growing technique work there is no big difference what the...

Incredible how much dedication was put in into preparing wood.
Nice pictures of progress as well and brilliant result.
Hi, I never used them to be honest. Had no problems so far with multiple tanks. Maybe will start using but only when something happens. Definitely would not be putting styrofoam.
My 2p. The picture look fabulous. I am sure most of the package will be spot on. You might want to replace few things whether initially or in the future like external heater or better filter. I have personal experience with All pond solutions. I am using their powerheads on all shrimp racks and...
I have been asked a lot about the manifold I use during aquatics live.
Cant recommend enough these guys for co2 equipment. German quality for affordable price. Needle valves are very precise. I have two regulators from them and they both work perfect. One single valve and one with 3 needle...
Should I start making my own brand? Will make huge amount of money :) 5L bottle will make me 100L of liquid carbon :) Dont do that at home though. I am crazy and poor.
Well I am not scared to be sued because we are not discussing any particular product or brand. Just a chemical.
None...
Well :D
Just want people to read about it first. Saying that I use 50% solution to make my own Carbo which should be a no no :) for some people.
According europe law it is forbidden to sell to public. Does not count on eBay
Oops, I did not say that :shifty:
I am trying not to...
Just one species will not work.
Why to think of something different at all if there were not even a normal competition in uk yet?
Why to start with the limits?
Love them and was considering it for angels as well. Well combined kit.
There are few 1200 new on eBay for a good price
Didn't even know 1500 exist. Will keep an eye on second hand ones.
What I have noticed going through the results enormous number of Brazilians and quite few of them in top 100.
3 people in top 30 from Turkey :)
Last year winner Pavel Bautin in 270 something...
6 entries from my country Lithuania as apposed to 2 last year.
Quite weak performance from Poland this...
There is an exception in the rules for fish and shrimp. You are safe to send by RM special delivery.
I am sure ebay has this exeption and it says that you can sell fish and shrimp only if you use special next day delivery.
I have heard that boiling it won't decrease tannins and even reach deeper layers of them. If you want to use it ASAP just go for it and change the water often. You can use something like carbon or seachem purigen in your filter.
It should help.
I would leave the co2 on especially if you leave just one bulb. I think you can do that, your ballast should be electronic and allow to run just one bulb. I might be wrong though.
Are you able to automatically dose ferts?
Hi, I would reduce the lighting time to maybe 5 hours and yes take out the reflectors before you go. 90w is not that high on your tank so you should be quite safe. With co2 replace the bottle if you can. If someone could do a water change in between it would be perfect.
