Thanks, thats the one. Been there twice already. Maybe get a chance to try a pool on the third occasion. Prices are great atm. 120£ for a double room for 2 nights. A higly recommended event guys.
Congratulations to all, Stu did it again :)Huge thanks to Mark Ewans it is his picture. Thanks for all congratulations my way. Apparently you can make into 100 even with the equipment in the tank :hungry:
I have mixed feelings. One side is of course very happy, the other is surprised. I entered...
I would be very tempted myself to see how high scree scores. Go for it. Was thinking about it a lot ;)
I will enter ugly little iwagumi from aquatics live just to make the numbers.
Thanks Sam indeed. Got home quite quickly on Sunday and managed to make it to the office same evening to put shirmp to acclimatize. All shrimp made it safe with no losses at all.
Have not made too much pictures as well. Good luck with crystals Steve.
Atmosphere were very friendly indeed. Judges superb. Conditions same to everyone.
I shall make a list of winners and other tanks today in the evening.
NeilW, this light is proper LED custom made light. Might be available from Aquasys in the future when they finally manage to launch there line.
I...
Hello guys. so I am back from busy weekend. We have managed to come 8th and even get some money to buy few drinks which considering very limited resources I was well surprised to be honest. Got loads of quick snaps and will try to upload soon. There were about 10 tanks at very high level both...
What a weekend. Many thanks to organisers. Placing fourth and receiving a 'highly commented' award is great.
It is a pity time went so fast and I did not have a chance to talk to all.
Hope it becomes an annual event.
Huge thanks for free stuff to unipac and plants to tropica. It is going to be...
No Gala dinner for me either, better get drunk somewhere local
I suggest we make a list of who is going.
People I know so far are going from London stansted are:
Mark
Dan
Tony
Luis
Jurii
Eduard
We have rented a car so if the remaining guys add to the list you can get a second car...
Definitely more than 2 Luis.
To change a name with ryanair some time ago cost 30 quid so should be about that now as well.
I will start looking for accommodation shortly.
Yep, good luck guys. I feel there should be few strong results this year ;)
I wish I had something ready to enter but the only one completed tank so far was submitted into ASE.
Thank for all for taking me into the team. It was amazing weekend. I have been to the event like that for the first time.
Great thanks to Dan for organizing everything. I can only imagine how much work he has put into this.
It was nice to meet new members and make more friends.
Hope we can breed...
We have not booked accomodation yet. I have looked at the prices and there are hotels available for around 240£ for 2 nights in double room with extra 3rd bed. so about 80£ per person per 2 nights.
I had an idea to rent a car or 2 now as lots of people are going and taking into account that...
Hehe. I wish number 3 would be true.
Wanted to ask about Hagen kit. Does it include diffuser?
Reason i am asking cause i am using inline diffuser now and have to cut clear piping accordingly.
Ok, a bit more than one week to go.
Couple questions:
1) I think it will be almost impossible to keep bacteria in the filter alive if the tank has to be ready in the evening.
2)What about UK power plugs. Do we have to take care of it ourselves like taking one extension socket with European...
Same flight for me and Mark
The flight price is still 65£ return including all ryanairs awkward fees. The price is without luggage. You get 10kg cabin bag allowance though. If you go on a shopping spree you can always add a bag on your return flight online anytime from there ;)
I fly...
Yuhoo
Double Yuhoo
If i told my family how much i spend on wood and rock they'd put me in mental institution
So that has to stay my little secret
Yes yes yes...
And i am getting 7D on purpose before that one
I know there will be enough photography gurus :shifty:
And hoping to spend some cash on great stuff. That book of yours Dan, Amazon under the water is so amazing. Would like to get one there.
Maybe some unusual...
Great news about co2 setup.
Wont need to carry my 6kg bottle
Looking forward to the workshops.
Anyone knows what happened to Mark (Arana) it looks like he had meeting place for all londoners.
If he is not coming and there are no more londoners with the tank i wouldnt mind to move the...

Great event and thanks to you guys for doing so much for the community. Events like this are so nice and they give lots of inspiration to other people.
I will repeat again it is a pity there is no contests in UK with such a huge community. Live contests would be great as well.
Well maybe some...
Ok, checked the hotels webpage and it sounds like it could be nice to stay there. They also have heated swimming pool if that helps to change anyones mind :D It did change mine...
Would be great if we all stay there. 52£ per night at the moment for 2 people.
So count me in for the hotel.
So is anyone going to stay on the venue? 46 to share per night sounds affordable and i guess majority will go for the hotel option.
As well where and when is the meeting point for Londoners?
Thanks
Superb event. People seemed to love it. It was nice to meet Graeme, George, James, and others. Tanks are a beauty. Some great equipment there. Led lights and DIY light fixture from James are amazing. Thanks a lot for a great evening.
Thats a great idea. With such large community it would be awesome and very challenging which would benefit all. We could even raise some money for the prizes. I wouldnt mind donating or paying a set fee.
Looking now at some works you can tell that the level and competitiveness got much higher this year:
Anyway here are some works:
http://acuariorosa.com/2010/08/10/the-i ... test-2010/
Congratulations to all participants. Its nice to see that the numbers are growing. Looks like most of the participants are first time entrants. The level of a contest probably got higher as usual the 10th aniversary adding to that as well.
Missed the works from the top guys especially who are...
Probably yes Neil. Its a huge surprise and i am really tempted to see the photos asap. But there are only 2 people this year in top 27 who are not from Asia though.
Reading the posts where people say they dont take the equipment out for the photo. Whats the point of participating then? Looks like people competing who is going to come last.
The post was not written with bad intentions but looks like you took it personally George?
Where are the guys who...
Tony's 457th is the best from UK by the way :(
Come on people, i am sure you can do much better than that...
And take it more seriuosly.
Congratulations to Pavel Bautin from Russia for winning the grand prize.
