    1-2grow hairgrass melt

I would say the emergent growth is dying and being replaced with new growth. As long as you keep seeing new green growth popping up from the substrate I wouldn't be too concerned.

    Trimming stems

I've done mine the second way, trim the length I want, short for example and then remove the roots and ugly bits at the bottom, then replant the tops into the soil. Only done mine once though and wasn't really aware of any other way 👍

    Pinnatifida trimming

Either way works, hacking it back obviously takes longer to grow back into shape. Which also allows smaller better coloured leaves develope and forces it to grow sideways and bush out. Creating lots of runners from the trimmed piece. I've found pinnatifida grows back from the smallest hacked up...

    Anyone figured out H.Pinnatifida?

Cracking looking tank [emoji106] Do you have any close ups of the pinnatifida? It's growing in mine at the minute (tank not as established as yours) and in a similar position to yours, high up and getting plenty of light and co2. Just curious to compare,

    Amazon frogbit

My ramshorns eat the actual leaves, little pieces chewed here and there, I've seen them actually attached to the leaf rather than the roots.

    Storing plants

Thanks @hogan53, you've just jogged my memory. I have plenty of plant pots and weights, would they be a good idea? Then just chuck them in the holding tank with all leaves intact I'm guessing? Then trim it all back for planting in new tank, plant just the root system? I can use some of the...

    Storing plants

Hi guys, Shutting down my tank at the mo but I want to keep a selection of the plants for the new tank. Mainly Cryptocoryne and epiphytes, buce and anubias mostly. What's the best way for me to keep and prepare Cryptocoryne for the new tank? Let them float in the spare tank and give them a trim...

    Trimming Moss

With java moss it tends to grow a bit unruly so I just literally pull some of the longest pieces off, as it grows back really quick. I did trim it with scissors once or twice but ended up with tiny fragments of moss all over the tank. Pulling it off of whatever its attached to isn't the most...

    Hygrophila pinnatifida

TBH it could be the spray as it was attached to the wood and all the damaged leaves were level with the bar. Lights are on for 6 hours. Including ramp up and down. Drop check lime green at lights on. It has lost nearly all its leaves so was removed 2 weeks ago. With the exception of some small...

    Hygrophila pinnatifida

Cheers, I did hear that K could be the issue. TBH the aps reactors are not working how I want so may experiment with placing in tank diffusers next to the fx6 inlet. Plus the noise of the reactors is driving me crazy. Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk

    Hygrophila pinnatifida

My water comes from the tap at 7.4 with a TDS of around 180. Before the lights come on the pH is at 6.3 however (I believe down to me not being able to control the gas inside the aps reactors)the pH drops a little further to 6.15 during the photoperiod. The aps reactor also doesn't dissolve all...

    Hygrophila pinnatifida

Hi all, I have been having some trouble with the above loosing it's lower leaves. They go like in the picture then slowly go pale before falling off. I have recently changed my co2 injection towards two aps style reactors and have been struggling to keep a decent pH profile. Could this be the...

    Cryptocoryne ID

Thank you, just noticed the slight difference in spelling, Nevellii and Nevillii. Whether this is a typo or 2 different strains beats me, thanks for your help.

    Cryptocoryne ID

Thanks Darrel, Mick.Dk has given a version however my problem is that AG sell Nevillii, Lucens and Willisii. I too have read the same about nevillii and the description on tropica website says that willisii has been incorrectly named nevillii, however if that's the case what plant am I buying...

    Cryptocoryne ID

Ok I'm putting through another little order through AG and I'm trying to buy the same plant, however they sell both Nevellii and willissii. Which one is the same as what I have? If they have been incorrectly labelled as Nevellii does that mean they are effectively the same plant?

    Cryptocoryne ID

Should be one of those 5, from Aquarium gardens so I'm sure they were labelled correctly. I just want to order some more low growing crypts to be honest. If i can't ID this one then I might go lucens or parva.

Hi all, could anybody help my ID this crypt? I'd like to buy more however bought quite a few at the same time and can't remember which one it is. It's very low growing and spreading quite well . No pro camera so only have a phone pic. Thanks.

    Sagittaria subulata melting

I was dosing 10ml a day, strangely enough where I was dosing it with the syringe the sag is just below, so the spray bar would push it down the front glass and into the sag where it's melting. Hopefully I will start to see some new growth soon, as it's only melting in one area. Up to now it...

    Sagittaria subulata melting

I would've thought the same if it hadn't been flooded for 2 months and shown considerate growth and spread. 2 months after flooding seems too long to start to transitioning don't u think?

    Sagittaria subulata melting

It had developed nicely and spread quite well during a 12 week Dry start. After I flooded it continued to spread, which is why I was stumped when it started melting.

    Sagittaria subulata melting

Hi all, My SS has been melting at a very fast rate for a little while now. It seems to be spreading through the thick growth from one spot. Could dosing liquid carbon be causing this? I've got a 1.2 ph drop for lights on and stable throughout photoperiod 6 hour photoperiod. Dosing full EI...

    Eloecharis acicularis tips

Hi all, Currently at 4 weeks in my dry start stage and need some advice on the above. The tips of the grass on a few plants have turned brown. Tried researching but found a few answers so nothing for sure, could it be drying out or just normal die back. I've attached a photo and as you can...
