Making all- in- one mix from Macro and Micro salts?

I apologise in advance if this has been asked before. I have all the macro salts, and trace mix for dosing EI. I was wondering if I could somehow make an all- in- one mix for a small nano tank I have. The reason being that I am going to be doing daily water changes on this tank, so dosing on...

    Ei stater kit question..

Yes and I do: 8 2 12 2 And then give a half dose each day. I'm just trying to work out how he calculated that he needs 1.5x nitrate, 3x phosphate, and 2x magnesium. I mean, how did he work out those multipliers?

    Seachem Flourish Tabs Alternate

Why do you want root tabs? If you dose EI daily, you don't need any additionally fertilisers.

    EI and Remineralising RO

Pretty much the same I have seen everywhere else: 'Sodium is a bad thing in aquariums' What's the science behind this claim? What chemical processes are at work that impinge on the fishes' and the plants' wellbeing?

    Why to dose extra iron?

Great, thank you for clearing that up Clive. So pretty much another thing that I don't need to worry about, unless I see yellowing or paleness of leaves.

    EI and Remineralising RO

'You don't need to re- mineralise RO if you are adding EI fertilisers' I have heard that on this forum several times now, and I still don't understand how it can possibly be correct. Above all, The fish and inverts need calcium. That's not in the EI ferts. If you added non- remineralised RO...

    EI and Remineralising RO

Thought I'd add, The TDS of the water going in is about 150. By the end of the week, the TDS in the tank is about 350. So that's a lot of PPM being added through ferts. I am adding magnesium and potassium twice, so I should alter what I'm doing in some way surely.

    EI and Remineralising RO

This has been bugging me for a while now and I finally want to sort it out once and for all... I could really do with the help of someone more chemically- minded than myself. I change 50% of my tank water each week. I use pure RO (zero TDS), and remineralise it with JBL Aquadur. I add enough...

    Why to dose extra iron?

Not sure what to entitle this thread, as my questions are quite broad. I was reading up about EI dosing online and notice that quite a few people dose extra iron. Then I got thinking about my own EI mix, and whether I should alter it/ dose less of one thing/ more of another. How do we know...

    Overdosing EI, much point?

I currently dose 1.5 x the recommended dose of EI. I used to dose the recommended amount, but I had algae issues related to a lack of phosphate.

Does the charcoal in my filter take the fertiliser out of the water?

Clive, I'm intrigued in this last post. What are the benefits of having activated carbon in your filter?
