    Something else I forgot about akadama that you might not have noticed on the site. When you put fresh akadama into a tank it tends to suck all of the hardness out of the water and absorbs it which leaves less for your plants to use. Due to this im sure the old guide somewhere on here advised...

    Sweet Lincoln's mullet! You may want to drop that down to 5 hrs on startup now youve got water in it. 12hrs is ok for DSM but not for filled start :thumbup: might help out with the algae

    id knock one of the lights off for a week and do some 50% water changes every couple of days. That advice helpded me from ceg when I had problems. Are you using 4dkh water in the drop check by the way? (just in case its reading a false yellow)

    Theres one of your problems right there. If you can, get some co2 or easycarbo/excel in there, that sun in the morning wont help either.

    can you not just push up the KH with something like sera KH+? The PH controller will then put more co2 in to hold it at 6.6 or 6.8
