Hi all
I’m putting my eheim experience 350 onto my DENNERLE Scapers tank.
It’s got a 16/22mm hose but my nano pipes are 12/16mm so I’m looking to reduce them.
Rather than buy reducers then double taps has anyone ever reduced via a double tap? I was think of buying a 12/16mm DT and 16/22...
Ive just had an Innovative marine SR-80 delivered by Nordic Reef UK so Ill be in the same boat although its a rear chamber sump! Will be following this one with interest
Yep Thermo's are not cheap but I needed another filter for a bigger tank so had to save a while longer to get one with a heater. The only other option was a heater in the tank which I didnt want to do.
ive binned mine after it cooked the tank and killed a load of my fish. You can get an electrical cutoff for it but I dont trust them anymore so have just invested in an Eheim thermofilter.
ha ha, ta. pre trim looked like Nam!
might be worth checking with others re the diffuser position. Ive always gone for opposite (like amano's tanks) as my intakes werent really capable of pulling in the bubbles but you may be able to position yours better.
yeah basically what youve said. keep the inlet and outlet next to each other and I "think" ive seen on here that it creates a circular flow where it leaves the outlet, across the tank, around the back then curves back int the inlet. obviously once plants and hardscape get in the way everything...
both at one end next to each other on a single unit. Not tried a diffuser next to an inlet as I usually put it opposite the outflow so it blows the bubbles around and keeps them from surfacing
ive had powerman lilys before now. I found the outlets are ok but the inlets were pretty crap as the slits were too sharp and narrow and constantly sucked shrimps into a hari kari implosion of death. There also werent enough slits which caused an increase in pressure on each one hence the...
go to zooplus.de. free shipping and 20% discount on your first order. As long as you can get around the german youll be fine. Bought my eheim 2078 3e from there at a greatly reduced discount than zooplus.co.uk crazy how it works but it does :)
Re: Eheim Electronic Filter Professional 3E 700 2078 opinion
I got mine in a coffin like box yesterday along with some more siporax and spare pads. Ill be fitting it soon and moving over from the ex1200
Re: Eheim Electronic Filter Professional 3E 700 2078 opinion
Thanks for the advice all and the pm antipo. Looking forward To it arriving. They had to alter my order as I'd added some cheap seiryu but they don't ship that abroad :( still 239 euro is lots cheaper than £329 on the uk site (minus...
Re: Eheim Electronic Filter Professional 3E 700 2078 opinion
thanks both. ive gone for one with their 10% off first orders :)
It will replace my tetratec ex1200 so looking forward to getting it. I did look at the usb unit but ive also got a mac so it wont work.
hi all
thinking of buying one of these with my winnings from the aquatics live comp (thanks ukaps :) )
Anyone got any opinions of it as it has both positive and negative reviews on zooplus.de The eheim rep at aquatics live mentioned about a V2 but I didnt quite catch everything he said
I ran my rio quite well on an tetratec ex1200. Not sure on the rio internal as I took mine out but I think londondragon ran his for a while alongside a powerhead.
I use it on new setups in the filter and I bought mine from a local fish shop. Dave Spencer wrote a very good article on it over on Tropical fish forums but cant find it as their servers are down at the mo.
im so jealous of your filter! :) would love to get one running on mine but the ex1200 is doing ok for now, cleaning is a pain though! Looking forward to seeing it all setup
good write up there george. The other thing to take into consideration i guess is the speed of the flow. I had 16mm in/out on my tetratec ex1200 which didnt seem to shift much around the tank. I got hold of an ADA 13mm lily outlet which put more "sway" into the plants. Without going into...
mine actually came in a sealed mesh bag. doubt it would make a difference other than the messh will need to be really tight as the purigen beads are tiny
usually I regen it after about 4-5 months but it does go brown before that. depends on lots of vairable I guess on how your tank is setup, turnover, amount of fish poo etc
Ive ordered a cube garden mini-m tank to replace my tropica aquacube but will need to upgrade the filter as its just got a HOB on there at the moment.
Im after some recommendations for an external cannister that will be up to the job and will fit the cal-aqua nano inlet/lily if I can pick some...
has worked fine for me on a koralia 1. dropped about 3-4mm of co2 tube onto the shaft before fitting the impellor.
that other thread should be pinned :)
i dont like them personally. the violet type is like the ADA lily only as if its been stood on and squashed. theres also the poppy but ive not seen this in the flesh.
the do aqua inflows are ok though. If it was me starting from scratch id get a do aqua or cal aqua inflow and ADA or cal aqua...
i bought an atman once, never again though as the filter to pipe seals leaked like mad unless you applied 8kg of vaseline and positioned them in that one special way that didnt leak, probably pointing to the atman sungod or something.
those units above look better made than the one i had though.
thats the same setup ive got glenn except ive got a sera external co2 mixer and ot an aquamedic. no doubt the flow is lowered but ive got it going out of a 13mm lily pipe which speeds it up somewhat. The koralia is definately needed though plsu it depends on the amount of hardscape and plants...
ive got a serafil 900. its pretty good, doesnt leak and is silent. bit a pain to prime once youve lost any water out of the inlet hose on a water change though
theres a few on ebay now on buy it nows. was looking at one of the nanos for my 60cm tank the other day but with the new flow rate it would propbably do my 90cm!
i think for an extra £12.50 id go for a koralia 1. With the ebay unit you may end up with a proper wavemaker there where you get a more pointed flow. the koralia gives more of a wide "push" of water rather than directional without the attachment fitted plus youd get a uk warranty if it fails.
They are and thats a very good price above. :) Without the nozzle installed they give a gentle "whoosh" of wide flow rather than a concentrated blast of funnelled water. Ideal for planted tanks (ive just bought a "1" for my 90cm)
That was the one Dave Spencer had suggested, I just couldnt remember what it was called :D Ive bought some Aquaone zeolite to use on mine although I guess theyre all the same.
dave spencer did a very good write up on another forum about this and using an ammonia remover on startup but I cant remember the forum. Ill be using some on my new tank
ive also been thinking of getting a nano to blow into the quiet corners of my Rio125. Ive currently got a Sera 900lph external via a spraybar but it doesnt get every part of the tank as far as I can see.
Hi all
progress with my tank is going well although theres no water in it yet!
Having come back to planted tanks after a bit of a break im after some advice on what to put in the filter. The previous guy I drained of knowledge at Alisons Aquarium advocated just putting Sera Siporax in his...
could i ask a thicko question? when you say to add a powerhead as well as the external o you mean install it in the tank as an extra outlet or attach it to the existing external filter in some way?
