Ewan, thats a really good addition (as my above post). I might start writing a few aquatic thoughts on there.

For me (without sounding harsh) it just looks like two piles of rocks. Although it depends what planting you're going for, but if you're going for a full-blown gumi then you need to position the rocks to compliment each other.

This is something that I've been thinking about for a while, it's good to have everyone on their own "forums" but you need to branch out from the people you know and see week in, week out. I guess the difficulty will be that unfinished scapes will be published on the site which might detract...

One of my first inspiring scapes, I always try and look up for reference material all the time.

Number 2 for me, #1 and #3 have too high a foreground with me no liking #4's angled towards another stones.

I've seen people put polystyrene (spel) underneath rocks to help not damage the lower glass plane.

George this is super nice, it's like the Chocolate Gourmai one that was around a while ago. Like you said, it's good to step aside from the norm and what your good at - that can be said in all walks of life. How did you find tank maintainence? I guess the dark water helps prevent algae?

I've used all sorts but cable ties have to be the best for me.

Some pieces need a clean but not a long soak. Best to soak it in hot water first but my pieces never leeched anything.

You've got the idea of how to layout a gumi style well. The first one is better IMO and if you made sure that when you put it in the tank that you raise the back right rock up higher as the focus one then you'll be onto a winner. As you've said it's each to their own and the main thing will be...

Yer, I don't mind getting some/all to me and I'll ship it via royal mail etc in the uk. Each person would pay p&p from the uk bit and a bit extra to cover Tom's costs.

I don't mind sorting it being sent to me then dividing it all up amongst people.

Rather symetrical for me. I would take the "steam" from a third on the right, make it sweep across to the left front where the carpet is. You could still have some plants there but maybe in between small rocks? Then it's like what's at the end of a stream.
