Re: A different Iwagumi! It is a beautiful tank, I might setup something similar. As I'd like a larger tank in the new house but low maint. What was your maint. regime George?

Ewan, thats a really good addition (as my above post). I might start writing a few aquatic thoughts on there.

    Rate My HardScape

For me (without sounding harsh) it just looks like two piles of rocks. Although it depends what planting you're going for, but if you're going for a full-blown gumi then you need to position the rocks to compliment each other.

    AquascapeGallery.com, a personal introduction

This is something that I've been thinking about for a while, it's good to have everyone on their own "forums" but you need to branch out from the people you know and see week in, week out. I guess the difficulty will be that unfinished scapes will be published on the site which might detract...

George this is super nice, it's like the Chocolate Gourmai one that was around a while ago. Like you said, it's good to step aside from the norm and what your good at - that can be said in all walks of life. How did you find tank maintainence? I guess the dark water helps prevent algae?

    Iwagumi Layout Advice

You've got the idea of how to layout a gumi style well. The first one is better IMO and if you made sure that when you put it in the tank that you raise the back right rock up higher as the focus one then you'll be onto a winner. As you've said it's each to their own and the main thing will be...

Re: Rescape - NEED HELP WITH WOOD POSITIONING Thanks Mark, I'll try and get to that. I'm taking inspiration from your Pastel Shades tank. This should fit into my tank... but not liking it as much as the last. I don't think it helps that wood outside of the tank looks awful! Thomas the wood...

Re: Rescape - NEED HELP WITH WOOD POSITIONING I have some curved pieces and those are curved, it's just the way the photo is makes them look straight. I've just had a quick play during half time of the football and am uploading a photo at the minute. The substrate is about 2-3 inches so the...

Re: Superman's 180l Rescape So this is my first attempt at scaping with wood, need any critique. This is only the wood setup, I should be able to sort the stones out myself but the wood is the main bit. I understand the whole process of setting up stones but wood (?!) what should be done...

    180ltr Rescape

Here's a drawing of something I'm walking towards, I'm keeping the substrate as my zambezi gravel with a tropica substrate base (which is about a year old). It's a mound style scape with java fern feature flanked by green and brown/red crypts and balanase, all around some nice wood. The large...

Only over the past few days have I truly appreciated the beauty of a bunch of crypts in my tank. Before I'd just bunged them in to help with plant mass but am now starting to see how you can use them in a scape. I removed a load of plants around a clump of parva and thats in full view, its...

    Planagram of tank

Rather symetrical for me. I would take the "steam" from a third on the right, make it sweep across to the left front where the carpet is. You could still have some plants there but maybe in between small rocks? Then it's like what's at the end of a stream.

    Wood Placement & Arrangment Questions?

I enjoyed watching the ADA demo at TGM last Friday with specific regards to setting up the rock formation and I think I understand the basis of the reasoning behind it.
