Hi,
I would appreciate it if someone on the forum (e.g. a TV aerial person) would be able give advise on an 8-way loft box that was installed in our house when it was built.
I'm looking for help as the builders don't have a clue and I'm not able to get the Sky return feed working to the TVs...
Hi all
Greetings from an old forum user!
I've had a quick view of the the forum and it looks like its been going from strength to strength. Well done everyone!
In the last couple of years, I've not been able to keep my aquatic interest going but hope to pick it up again in the future.
I do...
Hey all, hope you're all going ok.
We've booked a trip to Australia in 2011 with a few stops across the country.
We're struggling to decide for hotels in both Melbourne (our first stop for 2 nights) and Sydney (9 nights).
Therefore, any recommendations on places to stay in either...
Belated Christmas wishes to everyone.
I've successfully moved in with the girlfriend in our first house together. Today I transferred my tank to the new place and that wasn't as bad as I thought.
I'll be back in the new year once the broadband is connected. So happy new year!
This is disappointing, as I'm very careful with exposing my email address online.
Over the last few weeks, I've started to receive spam mail through my email address that was used on the PFK website. I've never received them before and doubt it's a coincidence.
Whilst I'm not on the list...
Top tip: Search through google for something on the tropica website "site:tropica.com plant nutrition plus", although the direct link might not work. If you click "cached" it's the google's saved verison and you should be able to view the old page.
Looks like a Golf Bluemotion Tech SE 5dr will be the one I get, need to book a test drive just to be sure.
I currently have a 1.9d '58 S 3dr which is sufficiently powerful and the bluemotion is a little bit quicker with vastly improved interior and mpg. So the best of both worlds.
Having traveled to Cumbria on numerous of occasions to visit Barrow, Whitehaven and Workington to watch Rugby League, my thoughts are with the people of Cumbria. My friends and family in Hull were flooded last year, so can appreciate the situation.
I hope normal life is restored as soon as...
So, I've been thinking for this since I started this thread.
At the minute, I've still not seen the car list so haven't chosen what I want.
I'm still on a BMW, having done the sums my previous car Astra 2.0Cdti (150) Sxi [XP] gives me an idea on tax costings. I've found out that I can get the...
All the new BMWs come with the run-flat tyres and people say that with the M Sport suspension provides a rough ride at times.
I've still not got my list yet, but was reviewing 3 series models but I'd rather have a lower series car full with gadets then a higher series car with a tape player...
Thanks for the advice CeeBee. I had a look at all of that when I got my current car.
For my personal circumstances the difference between the two was marginal so decided to have the company car for convienience.
At my next job, I can only guess that the company car will only provide me...
I had a pc world bought 'Advent' PC which was ok, nothing great.
I've got a Dell laptop which I've had for 4-5 years now and can do with a replacement as it's got old.
I would recommend Dell 100% as my father got a PC from them which didn't work and after sending replacement parts which didn't...
I might have a new job, so I'll have a new company car.
I'm going to be doing 70 mile round trip in the new job to the office each day which will add up on the fuel costs.
Does anyone have a car with good mpg? The new renault megane looks nice with 60mpg.
Note: I feel like a granddad for asking...
I work for Lloyds Banking Group but before the "takeover" of HBOS was at Cheltenham & Gloucester part of the Lloyds TSB Group.
I currently manage the risk on the mortgage portfolio of the Lloyds Banking Group (1 in 4 mortgages in the UK), which has mortgage brands of Lloyds TSB, Halifax, Bank...
Good news that, I think having you here on this forum is a positive as you post full journals and lead us through your setup thoughts too. It's good to know that someone of your talent has the same silly questions as the rest of us.
*** Going into old man mode ***
At the end of the day, we're...
To be honest, I'd watch it but I don't have sky.
Therefore, the only sport I get to watch is on the beeb.
Main points of cricket...
1) It gives me something to do at work
2) I like any sport that we beat the convicts at - don't get much chance in my main sport (Rugby League!)
Mark,
I wasn't aware of anything going on and it saddens me that it is the case.
Your in a top list of people I hunt for on the forum to see what they've posted.
I thought we're here to learn, chat, develop our own skills and your one of the people that's helped me out.
If your not going to be...
I used to play the piano regularly and got to grade 6 but gave up as playing 3 pieces for a year and a half for exams wasn't my idea of playing the piano anymore.
I generally play when I visit my parent's house now but only when they're not in.
I love playing but I find it a very personal...
I've used www.senditnow.com twice in the last few weeks and the service has been as promised on their site.
I think using Parcel Force is better than any other courier as most people will have a delivery office near them.
Thanks everyone.
FYI, there's http://www.interparcel.com who seem to have good reviews, but I went with Tonser's http://www.senditnow.com who are Parcelforce.
Thanks everyone, had a great day out at Warwick castle with the girlfriend, then listened to Hull KR beat Hull FC in the Humber Derby, then a curry to top the night!
I'm sending a luminaire in the post this weekend but think it'll be better to get a courier like DHL to do it.
I've never arranged one before and found www.interparcel.com
I would appreciate it if anyone has any experience in sending large items not through Royal Mail.
I've been in jobs at both sides where internet is locked down and others where it's nearly free use.
Whilst I click onto the site most of the day at work, sometimes I do get a bit of boredom from being on the net 24/7 so maybe not having the internet at work could work out for the better.
God...
Since my late teens I started watching my rugby league team (Hull KR) home and away, and never missed a game in about three years. Then I moved away from home and missed a few matches before being totally exiled down South but manage to make the odd game.
Whilst moving away to Halifax, I was in...
I'm thinking of a change too Steve.
I've had a Dell laptop for the past 4 years and it's getting slower by the keystroke!
I'm thinking of the mac too after having the iphone for nearly a year.
Wow, sorry to here this guys.
I knew there were people who closed websites as used to deal with phishing at work but can't understand why they'd do that other than the google thing.
I always tried to keep my code secure so that people couldn't find out what was done, but there's nothing really...
Talking about sports in the armed forces I'm refereeing the Cheltenham Rugby League Festival and the Army are in attendance and last time I saw them, they were really good.
I'm sure the standard of other sports in the armed forces are as good.
What a waste of electricity, we've got enough of these stupid TV programs that the g/f wants to watch.
I'm not a fan of people getting fame in this way as it makes it too easy and inflates people opinions of themselves as superstars when they're only good enough to go busking down Cheltenham...
Whilst I'm prob inbetween the "experience hobbyist" and a newbie, I'm a bit like Ed in a way. Sometimes I just want to relax on an evening and have a flick through a few journals but have a quick look at if there's anyone with a burning question that needs to be helped.
Maybe something like a...
I managed to work something up

I'm using CS4 and the extract tool is a bit faffy, spesh with a laptop mouse pad!
Looking forward to it Mark, your journals are always a good read, hopefully you'll keep them up either on your new website or on here.
It can't help having more and more websites out there with details about our hobby.
It would be a good idea once we get too many journals to cope with.
As long as people highlight how many litres their tank is in the subject then it's not too bad to see if it's a nano or not.
As Hull is my home city, I've been to the deep a few times. I think that it's worth a visit but cannot compare to any other places as I've never been!
They used to do an evening event, so you could see with the lights on and then have a look around when they simulate the night.
It's cheap enough...
I think the signatures are getting better, but there are some that have too much.
With regards to competing forums, I would of thought that ukaps should be seen as somewhere to compliment the forum rather than take away threads. Don't get me wrong, but sometimes I don't want to scroll through...
I'm here in work when most people (all the bosses) have not been able to make it in. Will I get any time back? Obviously not, so they're discriminating against those who work close to the office compared to those who commute an hour.
