With the music glass diffuser, you got the box and the diffuser - nothing more. I bought the ADA co2 tube set which complimented it great. Both are worth every penny.

It is no longer my tank, I sold it when I moved house. I'm missing it.

A suggestion: The large left stone, turn it clockwise a bit so that the view in the photo (from the side) is from front on in the tank and try and bury the lower left corner a bit more in the substrate as it's a bit pointy. That should look a bit better? I'm not sure what to do with the other...

I know what you mean, everytime I went to the LFS to look for rocks, I found rocks with a good face that was always pointing upwards-left. Whilst I like the stone on the left in my nano, it's not as "perfect" in my eyes as my right hand piece. At the end of the day, it's your tank, so if you're...

I think that the rocks are pointing in the same direction, you need to create tension by having different lines from the rocks. I don't have to hand a link of where you can get 'gumi tips but maybe someone can come along and provide the link.

Re: Mountain Stream Nano Nice piece of glassware. If I was looking at a new filter, then I'd look to get an eheim thermo filter to remove the need for an in-line or a tank heater. I think all are good, just depends how much flow you want.

Thats the most natural looking thing I've every seen in an aquarium. Totally breathtaking, IMO this is a perfect scape.

One way to combat the initial ammonia leeching would be to perform a blackout until the ammonia spike has gone? Just keep performing daily water changes and covering up. I would of thought that with no filtration this spike could be present for some time.

I really like this, it's hardscape is superb and now the planting will go with it too. Once the HC has taken hold it'll look like a true mountain scape.

Whilst I don't want to jump the gun, I added Seachem's Purigen product to my filter as I've used it in the past to clear the water but never really seen any difference. Well, this time it's changed, before the water had a bit of a green hint to it, now it's clear as vodka! I always recommend it...

Eyes down looking... I decided to put it in the area where the worst HM was due to previously not looking after it, this is what a pot looks like planted.

Today, I got a replacement co2 bottle (£14) from AquaJardin I also got a few luxury purchases to use up a credit note, I got purigen to add to the filter and a pot of Myriophyllum Mezianum I'm going to try it in the middle back of the tank at the start and see how it goes. I fancied trying...

Re: Let the journal begin! I don't know how I missed the OP, but the photos look amazing. Good rock placement. If it was me, a HC foreground would be what I'd go for and then something behind the stones, such as a stem or tall grass type (eg c. helferi). But a HC only thing could work well.

Cracking photos Dan, you've shown that having a large amount of plants isn't the be all and end all. I'm amazed on how clean everything is, I'm sure you cleaned things before photos but I would of expected it to be difficult to keep algae clear but you didn't have any problems. Top marks.

I've never heard of anyone attaching hairgrass to hardscape - not saying it won't work, just never heard/seen it. Maybe look into some plant weights if it comes out of the substrate easily. Some of mine did it after a while and the shrimps pulling it out, it get a pain but in time it took hold.

Good news about the fry. Some find that if the hairgrass is in it's emersed form, then it'll die back hard. Some find it's best to cut it back hard to get the new submerged growth. This hasn't worked for me, but might work for you.

That looks nice, I like the moss growth in the tank.

When I had tiny shrimp, I cut up a fine fish net and tied it around the intake. It was easy to clean. Filter wool will also work.
