I'd just like to add that the nanos are fully catered for at the AquaJardin store in Gloucester with the Dennerle range of products. They have a few of them setup as display tanks as shown below...
Join their club for £5 and you'll get 10% discount off most products.
Please can you add...
I obtain my 2kg CO2 FEs from the following local company who offer £20 collecting one on loan. He said this time that he could do larger ones, really nice guy and amazed I used a FE for my fish tank!
Bulldog Protection Systems Ltd,
Little Elms,
The Reddings,
Cheltenham...
Thanks Ed, I was hoping to put it into an unused room so that the hum of the air filter isn't so bad.
Might have to put it into my living room now alongside my new tank.
Quick question, the instructions say that to hatch them they need a light source. Is that correct or can you just use the light near the end to get them to swim near it? Just I don't have a spare light and would have to use a window or something.
Thanks Ed.
I got the 250g pouch and have put it straight into the fridge and will use an airtight container once opened
I'm amazed how small the eggs are!
I ordered a pop bottle converter, sieve and some eggs yesterday from TA-Aquaculture UK
They arrived this morning! Well impressed, will have to give them a go when my air pump arrives.
Thought I'd bring this up rather than starting a new thread.
I treat my new fish some live brine shrimp for the first time, they loved the stuff. Although the £1 bag didn't last long with them lot and it'll be expensive to buy them that all the time.
How often do you feed with brine shrimp to...
Bit of a shame, met the lady at FoF who I think said it was a part time job.
I would of bought from them if they had in stock what I was looking for at the time.
Yesterday I had a "free day" with the girlfriend so thought I'd treat her to a trip to Aquarium Gardening seen as it's only about 40 mins away from where I live. They have listed some different plants to what I usually see at Tropica stockists.
Before setting off, I rung them to check they were...
Can I just echo Sam's comments on the Goldfish bowl.
I was passing through Oxford when I remembered seeing this so thought I'd pay a visit.
Wow - loads of livestock choices. Good snail selection too (including large numbers of Nerites)
Loads of plants in good condition, although whilst they...
I went to the Bourne End MA today, wasn't overly impressed.
Most of the livestock tanks had algae, had a number of plants in.
I'm glad I went, but wouldn't go back.
I had to pickup, pickup, a pa-parcel in Worcester so went to Maidenhead Aquatics in Worcester.
I was impressed with them as the chap there (passed the too early Crimbo dec's) was very chatty and helpful.
Managed to get two really nice pieces of wood that I might use in the future.
The plants...
I never found anywhere in West Yorkshire for decent aquatic stuff, although there was a good place near the Galpharm (Huddersfield) that stocked a wide range of fish.
So, apart from our fab sponsors..
Aqua Essentials (http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk)
and
The Green Machine (http://www.thegreenmachineonline.co.uk)
Where else do you purchase goods online?
I'm thinking of buying something from Charterhouse Aquatics (http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk)...
I went to Aquajardin today as some house viewings cancelled and I was in Gloucester.
It's just off the motorway and is the best I've seen that is attached to a Garden Centre.
As others have said it's very impressive inside. They had a decent selection of Tropica plants and a vast array of...
I'm at Bolton-upon-Dearne tomorrow which is between Barnsley and Doncaster.
Wondered if anyone could recommend a few LFS for me to visit near or on the way there from Leeds.
Ta
Wow what a day so far. Up and out at 8am this morning and scrapped a load of snow off my car.
Managed to visit all five on my list of places...
Cockfields Farm - nice place, massive inside but only half of it used for aquatic stuff. Nothing really of note in there for what I was looking for...
I'm not really going for plants, mainly hardscape type stuff and a general look.
I'm thinking of ordering plants online from greenline (I think that was the name).
There's three within a decent driving distance from me - Stockport (aka Manchester), York & Beverley (aka Hull).
With them having loads of stores all over the UK I'm thinking that they are pretty good but don't want to go some distance and getting there and it's a waste of time.
If you been to...
