    60cm play tank

This is a lovely scape George, very natural and your photography skills are very professional too. It is amazing that there is no pressurized co2 present or heater, so basically the tank temperature is getting the ambient room temperature and being boosted by the lights, is that coorect?

    Blyxa-Bolbitis scape

Thanks Vase. I think really, i was inexperienced in keeping plants, so this time i decided to gain experience in keeping plants. Originally i used CO2, but no ferts or nutrient rich substrate, but now with the help of this forum, i don't think it would be a problem keeping Discus and plants...

    Blyxa-Bolbitis scape

I've been down the discus route before, but with higher running temperatures and more co2 complications, i decided to dedicate this tank to just fully planted. I may split the Limneophia up later.

    Blyxa-Bolbitis scape

Thanks for the replies guys. Thomas, the tank is 720 litre. Dave, i'll be catching the remaining Cardinals tomorrow, then a water change. And you know what it's like trying to catch just one fish in a planted tank with brace bars.. :? But i'm thining about going for a scape with some very...

    Blyxa-Bolbitis scape

Hi Jek, yes they are rather rare in the Uk now, Akva-Stabil pulled out of the UK market last year which was a big shame. I can't think of another tank manufacturer which has such diversity in colours, well maybe Deltec. The alu frame is very annoyung, i had to remove the original...

A few pics from my last scape...

It took me about a day to strip all the pants out, seperating different stems etc into different garden tubs, and buckets. Then i removed some of the access gravel, changed the poly filters to clean up the tank. Also done a few scapes. Next day, rescaped again, then started planting, cutting...

A few pics from my last scape...

Just thought i'd share a few shots of my overgrown tank, which i stripped down, and rescaped for a new journal over the Easter weekend. The tank is an Akva-Stabil Effect-line 720 litre, but more details will follow in the journal. I did also remove a substantial amount of gravel, and believe...

    Low Tech Rio 180

  71. TDI-line

A few pictures from my original display

Thanks guys. Circulation was fine after the background was removed. Used to have to Eheim Pro2 2028 at each end of the tank. Now just using the Eheim Pro3e, which seems to pack a good punch for strong circulation.
  72. TDI-line

A few pictures from my original display

Just thought i'd share these pictures from my original display. The tank had a Back to Nature background which caused no end of problems with planting widths, circulation and algae.
