Would this be a suitable filter?

One thing to bear in mind is that if a 200w heater malfunctions it'll heat the tank alot quicker than a smaller one. A 50w would still be able to heat your tank more than well enough, maybe even just a 25w would do in a 27 litre tank. External filters need to be below the tank to work best.

    Hydor koralia nano

I have two of them and find them great to use. Silent aslong as you don't let them get air in the top. They can vibrate a bit if debris blocks the ports. The only drawback with them is they use a metal spindle as opposed to the ceramic one used on all the other koralia heads. The impeller shaft...

    koralia powerheads.

My Nano's can vibrate a bit if debris gets trapped on the outside. There can be a problem with some Koralias though where the impeller starts hammering in and out on the spindle. You can solve this by cutting a little washer, to go over the spindle before the impeller goes on, out of soft rubber...

    Hose "connectors"

The standard hozelock ones fit Eheim 12/16mm hose a treat.

    Cleaning of Filter Media

You simply can't get rid of the spores and toxins in either new or old water. Washing the media in old water is just handier as you're throwing it away anyway. By washing the media you are removing more stuff than you are putting back in the tank had you left it dirty. Washing the media in new...

What size of KORALIA pump to get?

I have 2 nano's in a 48x15x18 along with Eheim 2128 and I don't think 2 koralia 1's would have been too much. Everything is wafting quite nicely right now but when things fill in a bit more maybe I'll regret not getting the bigger heads, I'm not 100% sure on that though.

Fluval Aqua Stop Screws - Important?

You could just use cable ties as a temp fix.

    eheim 2028 pro 2

That 5ft will only be beneficial upon syphoning to fill the filter, after that it becomes a hinderance as the further you have to pull and pump back the water the slower your flow rates will be due to friction as mentioned already.

    eheim 2028 pro 2

Yep, you only get that sound when the impeller is pushing air. John, if the pump mechanism won't work to prime it try pouring water down the intake pipe manually. You'll have to take the cage off to do it though. Either that or suck on the outlet pipe.

    Fluval 104/5 - Pipes/Tubes & Glassware?

The internal diameter of the fluval ribbed hose (for a 104 atleast) is 14.5mm. However the internal of the hose ends is 17mm. I imagine that if you replace your hoses with Eheim stuff or similar you would need the 16/22mm stuff to make it work.

    Positioning Spray Bars

If it's a long tank it's probably better on the end I would have thought, a short tank probably better on the back.

    Replacing Hose on Fluval 305

I've seen people using Eheim hose on Fluvals by just pushing it on. What size tube though I couldn't say but they just did away with the nuts.

Size is important! (Filter WxDxH) Which external?

I bought mine to run my 55g tank, roughly 190ltr. Is it not enough? The chart says suitable for 600 ltr tanks. Output is a little less than the TT ex1200 but not alot.

Size is important! (Filter WxDxH) Which external?

I've just been messing around with my Eheim today, a 2128. If you're not a fan of the internal heat system then the 2028 is the same dimensions at 210x210mm. All in all it's a nice bit of kit, I love the aquastop over the old Fluval 104 I have.
