adding co2 to established low light tank

I used to pipe the CO2 into my internal filter directly under the impeller, no airstone. It worked a treat, smashing up the bubbles so small they didnt really float and got mixed around the tank. The only noise was a small fizz every 10 seconds as the bubble hit the impeller. Now ive switched to...

    Night shut-off for DIY CO2

Would it be feasible to fit a solenoid to a DIY CO2 setup? Obviously not to the tank feed, because then the bottle might explode  But if you had a second tube coming from the bottle with the valve on it, it could be 'off' in the day and 'on' at night. This would allow CO2 to escape...

    Fizzy water

Thanks for the speedy replies! I have a main 'proper' tank which is planted which has a cheap tetraplant CO2 doser which i use once a day. I would not put carbonated water in there for fear on suffocating my shrimps and fish. Along my windowsill there is a glass bowl containing a big Apongeton...

    Fizzy water

Hi All, This may well be a silly question, but could I use sparkling mineral water for my plants? I know it would be hard to work out dosages, but I was thinking more of using it in my unfiltered bottles and jars of plants on my windowsill. Any reason why this wouldn't work? Would the...
