Critique my hardscape Fluval Studio 900

With wood, I don't think less is more. More is better I think. 80% will not be visible once the plants grow in. So I'd definitely add a little more wood than you think is good. I liked the wider setup in the beginning and really like the curve in the wood that was in front in the first picture...

Where to find this kind of wood?

Is he a member here? When I Google for living aqua I find 20 stores...

Where to find this kind of wood?

Am looking for this type of wood for my new scape. Anybody has a name of the wood, or even better, a seller?

    Aquascaping Basics - Part One

Yes, they even check water parameters and ask you to feed your fish, so they can see whether they are healthy and in decent numbers (for example, less than 12 isn't considered a school). Would love to participate, but no nature style category yet...

    Cleaning hardscape

Holland, but I see they ship to Europe, I'll see whether they have some other stuff to make the shipping more cost worthy. This one seems to have rounded edges, but I can always grind one side like the ADA shovel shape. Thanks for the heads up, I'll see whether they have a commission for you;)...

    Cleaning hardscape

True, but I don't believe you can kill all spores anyway. It isn't growing anymore for a few weeks, I managed that, but it won't die by itself. Not a big fan of excel in my tank. I use it for cleaning my diffuser and stuff, but not in my tanks anymore. But I'll do something like that with H2O2...

    Cleaning hardscape

I did that before during a 90% water change with H2O2, but now it is really in the bottom 10%. I can't do a larger water change without removing the fish and all shrimps. And I don't want to use excel or H2O2 with only a few liter water. Scared the concentration will get too large for so little...

    Cleaning hardscape

I've some BBA on unremovable hardscape. To remove it I was thinking about some kind of picker from a dentist. Then I saw ADA pro picker and that was exactly what I was looking for. But before buying one, what do you guys use to clean BBA from rocks?

    REALLY need some inspiration :(

Why did you take the wood out? I really liked it. I think if the stones were placed a little more natural (closer to the wood and to each other) instead of so evenly distributed. If you really want the background out, it is not that hard. Just put a filling knife in between and get the silicon...

    IAPLC top 27

I think I see a new style in the top 27. I do not feel this is nature style anymore. Looks more like scenery style!

Look at my wood! Is it poisonous?

    I was close:p

Look at my wood! Is it poisonous?

I think it rots sooner than some other types of wood. So if you plan a short term aquascape and use well dried wood without any soft tissue (bark etc), you'll be fine. Any longer than a year and it will definitely rot too much.

Stone ID please....is it good for iwagumi?

Testing for carbonated is easy, just pour some strong acid on a piece of stone you won't see later on. Most PO4 test kits that use the blue scale have acid in the bottle you need to add first. When it bubbles, lots of carbonates. A little is no problem, almost all stones will. The white veins of...

    tree branches

If the wood is too soft it will rot. So it really depends on the species. And remove all bark!

    floating wood!!!

Dome types of wood never sink. You mention curly wood. Can you show a picture? If it is the same curly wood they use with terrestrial animals it will always float and you'll need some heavy weight to keep it down.

    Unzan Stone UK?

Some black lava rock has a similar structure, except for the holes, those are carved in there by hand.
