    Fallen branch; regrowth.

Maybe a small rasbora/barb may be better in unheated tanks, but pretty sure either ruby or tucanos would be fine at low 20's, I personally love the subtle ruby tetra a male in good condition is stunning much nicer than the 🥱 ember tetra.

    Fallen branch; regrowth.

As ever scape looks excellent, hard to tell if the hobbit leaves are the emersed form, but with emersed crypt leaves it's usually a matter of time till they melt some melt in a few days others last many weeks. Big thumbs up to using the prime also, I love mine and would be my first consideration...

    The Nymph's Spring (EA900)

Really like your inspiration for the your planned tank, big fan of the original early nature aquarium style. I'm no aquascaping expert and I know it is hard but I'd defiantly try a cut down on the proposed plant list. All the tanks you posted above are larger than a 900, and have significantly...

    The new ice age

Nice tank for the betta/shrimp combo, personally I prefer Kessil/spot light led's for small cube tanks I think they suit the dimensions more than the bar type light like twinstar etc. I too have a 45cm cube tank that I plan setting up in the future and am likely to go with either a Kessil or...

    Daniel's 60l cube

Very cool lighting setup you've made I too think a "how to" would be a good idea. Also it looks as if the plant you have used in the background is a non aquatic plant commonly sold in shops  oftern called fountain grass carn't remenber the latin think it begins with O though.

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

Well I think it is about time for an update, progress has been quite slow really had a couple of issues with the tank mainly co2 the canister was sold to me as full but ran out after 1-2months of use just before xmas I then went away for a couple of weeks over new year so the tank had been...

    45cm rock scape

Yeah George I am a bit of a goby freak, just think they've got really funny characters. I think you'll be dissapointed when you see the 'Isotes' as I don't think it is whats in Amanos scapes. Its still a very nice plant though kinda a cross between tenellus and V. nana. Your right most barbs...

    45cm rock scape

It is slate, black slate to be precise and I got it from a local gardern centre, they also have a aquatic centre too where the rocks were nearly twice the price/kilo and all tiny pieces. Its really worth checking out local gardern centres they usually have a good choice of rocks and there cheap too.

    45cm rock scape

I plan on filling the gap around the main stone but I didn't have enough gravel to this with what I had left over from another tank. I went back to the shop I originally brought it from but they dont stock it anymore, its Geosystem river gravel if I remember correctly.

    45cm rock scape

Over christmas I visited my uncle and he had a tank he didn't need so I was more thank happy to take it off his hands. As I was never planning this tank its gonna be set up as cheaply as possible, helps when you seem to be permanently skint. So far all I've spent is £5.80 on the rocks and £24...

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

I picked up the latest copy of pfk today saw the little article on red nose shrimp. Wouldn't have brought them if I'd brought it sooner. Any how I picked up 12 amanos and 8 otos today, hopefully they'll help clear up the minor algae problem I've got. I'm also thinking of replacing the E...

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

So thought I'd post a little progress report, no new pics because frustratingly for me the there doesn't seem to be that that much has happened, Other than there being a few fish in. I went to a lfs in the hope of picking up some amanos and ottos. They had no amanos and the ottos looked very...

    Adam's 40cm Nano

Sorry to hear about the brigittae. I also had kept some a while back in a planted tank and also suffed quite a few losses from the original 10-12 after a month I only had around half. Think they are probably a fish better kept in a tank with conditions as close to the natural habitat as...

Well the tank has now been planted for nearly a week now after having a few issues with the CO2. I only have a pic taken shortly after setup, I will get some better shots once my bro brings back my camera. Excuse the floating blyxa and the plastic tub, the tub had some moss in which has been...

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

I think I'm set on the layout now, it's the best I can come up with the wood I have. Now comes another easy job choosing the plants. I originally wanted to use only 3 or 4 different plants, sort of a less is more approach but that’s kind of gone out the window now. I have come up a with a list...

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

Quick update I've now add some wood to the tank, I'm not really happy as the wood has all different colours and textures as I brought them from 3-4 different places, hopefully they will blend well together in time. Please feel free to advice on any tweaks or improvements I could make.

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

Your right I think I'll use fissidens mainly on the wood and probably xmas moss amongst the foreground rocks and java fern and/or bolbitis on the larger rocks. Thats the only draw back of fissidens, every place that sells it, sell it for £6+ for a couple of inches sq portion, I'd probably...

    165l 'fissidens and ferns' scape

Well I recently took delivery of my new tank, built by Aquariumsltd, which I have to say I was extremely pleased with it when it arrived. I was brought into the hobby purely because of fish but since the whole planted tank scene has taken off I've always wanted a real nice planted tank, and It...

saintly's"henge the revenge the 3rd and final installment"

Really great scape and pics, I also like the mix of stone and gravel. The rocks mini landscape right? Whats the gravel and pebbles you used? I'm planning on using mini landscape rocks in a future scape with graded gravel but the TGM gravels look kinda orange and look like they'd clash with the...

My new scape named Variance.Sneaky pre-ADA peak.

Re: My new nameless scape! Really nice Graeme, I really like the foreground planting mixing the Riccia and Eleocharis together rather than large clumps of each, looks very natural. Good work.
