i was once advised not to use hot water from the tap when doing wc.
I normally fill a bucket with water then letting it come to room temp either overnight or over a few hours before WC. I've not had many issues with that but would any one know why the hot water tap is not recommended?
very good advice there Darrel, i was going to write something similar but you beat me to it, Dean if you need a microworm culture one you set to go let me know and ill revive mine and send you some they are great protein source for betta or in fact for any type of fry!

If you asking in term of water parameter then i don't know much about but what i go know is that the PH lever of my tap water is quite high, i believe it to be something like 7.8 to 8. something which if i'm right makes it quite hard water.

the maturing of the thank is not a problem, i was planning on adding them in groups as i heard about their territorial behaviour
Im live next to stansted airport but dnt mind traveling upto 1hour. In terms of landscape im thinking of a wall of stones and caves but not quite worked that out yet. Thinking maybe some ocean rock i already have a bag of coral gravel!

yes sits normal, they will use any material available.
i have bred dwarf gouramis and bettas before and while the bubble nest was floating i managed to do some water changes by syphoning the water using airline tubing, it took a while to do but it ensures that the water doesn't go down too...
i have 2 sword tails females that also do the same but the are healthy, ill go with what MARKCOUSINS said turn the filter off and observe their behaviour, if they go to the surface as seem like they are gasping for air it might be that they are using the current created by the filter to take in...
