I think I did something really stupid....

i was once advised not to use hot water from the tap when doing wc. I normally fill a bucket with water then letting it come to room temp either overnight or over a few hours before WC. I've not had many issues with that but would any one know why the hot water tap is not recommended?

    lake malawi cichlids

not sure what you mean by this? If you asking in term of water parameter then i don't know much about but what i go know is that the PH lever of my tap water is quite high, i believe it to be something like 7.8 to 8. something which if i'm right makes it quite hard water. Temperatures i'm yet...

when was you last water change? if i where you i would do a water change now as using airline tubing, the reason why is if the female has not released the eggs then it will give the male a chance to re build it if it gets disturbed, the eggs will hatch with in a couple days normally then they...

yes sits normal, they will use any material available. i have bred dwarf gouramis and bettas before and while the bubble nest was floating i managed to do some water changes by syphoning the water using airline tubing, it took a while to do but it ensures that the water doesn't go down too...

i have 2 sword tails females that also do the same but the are healthy, ill go with what MARKCOUSINS said turn the filter off and observe their behaviour, if they go to the surface as seem like they are gasping for air it might be that they are using the current created by the filter to take in...
