There’s a seller of refurbished fire extinguishers on Facebook marketplace - I got two delivered for £35 a few months back. I get mine refilled at Gas Link Wales in Pontyclun-I think it’s around £5 for a 2kg FE.

I'm using two AM100's in a 450 litre tank and think they're brill. I initially used a AM100 on one side and an UP inline diffuser on the other - soon had to ditch the UP due to the bubbles. There is a faint trickline noise from both the AM100's, but I don't hear them when shut inside the cabinet.

I use these on my 20l nano where one lasts about three months, which I consider to be cost effective given that I don't have a co2 refiller near, but I use fire extinguishers from eBay for my 120l tank since a Clarke bottle lasts about 2 weeks-expensive!

As long as it's marked as co2 tubing it doesn't matter. Soft is easier to get onto the connections and glassware.

Oh, also, forgot to say, I personally don't find the Hagen ladder to be the best diffuser because bubbles were escaping after not completely diffusing into the water column. I personally find the el scaffo glass diffusers from fleabay work better.

Have you checked for leaks using soapy water just incase? Maybe one part needs a little PTFE tape.

I've been using these bottles for about 2 years in both my large and nano tank, and they've always been fine. If you can catch Machine Mart on a VAT free day and stock up then, it works out a little cheaper. I'm not 100% sure they'll fit the reg, but I would have thought so.

Dennerle do a nano drop checker, sold as part of the Crystal-line 125, but I'm not sure if it's available seperately.

I haven't actually covered mine, because I don't like the look of it, and it's in a fairly dark place, so it's only after a year that I've decided it needs a clean :D. If it got algae all the time I would definately cover it because I'd be so paranoid about breaking it.

Machine Mart do 600g (same size as 500g bottles) for £9.76 or £8.49 if you get them on a vat free day - one lasts about 3/4 months on my 20l! I'm not sure if your regulator will fit it though, I think the thread is different on refillable/non-refillable bottles. Maybe someone else knows?

When I set up 20l, I used Excel and got good results. I then switched to pressurised, and prefer it, because it's more stable, gives even better results and a 600g bottle lasts about 3/4 months! So possibly works out cheaper than Excel anyway, not sure. I do have a solenoid on it though.
