    chocolate face

Nice picture. He's got a "Dads got that camera again" look! Strangely, my son doesn't like chocolate but he is an ice cream monster....

Compact Digital Camera in the £100 - £150 region?

I bought an Ixus 75 a while ago so maybe not available now, but it was just over a £100. No viewfinder but the LCD display is 3" and covers most of the back plate. Has loads of features inc. white balance correction and some priority modes as well. Very pleased with it and something of a...

    Zebra plecs.

Yeah, bristlenose catfish (Ancistrus sp.) will readily breed in a community tank, but there are hundreds of species of catfish that are still awaiting scientific description, hence the L numbers. Zebra's were imported to such and extent that the wild population were in danger of being wiped out...

    The Eternal City.

Yeah, nice place Rome. I couldn't believe when I saw the Coloseum that a main road was built about 20 feet from it! Fantastic mozaics in the Basilica that look like paintings even from 5 feet away.

Love the cichlids. What are they? I recognise the firemouth and humphead, but that's about it!

    Glowlight Tetras with Ixus 75

Ah, cheers Ed. I thought the chocolate ones were what the wild type were called. You live and learn! It would be nice to get some wild types too. I'll have a look. I'm thinking of joining the BKA again as well so I might see what they have.

    Hurray new camera pics!

Lovely minnow pic. Good ones of the panda corys too. I tried to snap mine last night but they just wouldn't stay still!

    Glowlight Tetras with Ixus 75

Wow, that was quick Clive! I agree it looks much better, makes the orange stand out more. The ones of the glowlights would be better cropped as well, even just to remove the out of focus bits, but I didn't have time last night so just stuck them up. What I like about digital cameras is that the...

    Glowlight Tetras with Ixus 75

Hi all, I got a new camera the other week, an Ixus 75. It's only a compact as I couldn't stretch to an SLR and my wife wanted something easily portable, and so did I to some extent. I had an old SLR (Minolta Dynax 7000i) but it was quite bulky to carry out on holidays and stuff. Anyway, I read...

    I like black neon tetras

I think you might be on to something there. After I increased flow on my tank my glowlight tetras started shoaling alot more. Maybe just a temporary thing until they get used to it, but we'll see.

    40cm

It's got fantastic structure, love the contrast of the sand with rocks. It's almost a shame to put plants in it.... Did I really say that?

    I like black neon tetras

Some fish are quite underrated these days as they don't stand out in shops as much as the flashy colour morphs that have been bred. I find it disappointing that if I go into a shop I can't find a natural dwarf or honey gourami, ram etc and all that's offered are the red/sunset/blue type morphs...

    I like black neon tetras

You can't tell it's at ISO800. If it were a film camera I'm sure you'd be able to see the grain. Are there any compacts that you can set the ISO?

    Betta Splendens

I had a fighter that I bought as female to breed with my male. Turned out to be another male and very nearly killed the other one. Added it to my community tank where it attacked a male ruby barb taking out one of its eyes  I took it back to the shop after that! I've had others which...

    Frisky Amanos

I've got 3 amano's and I'm guessing the largest is female and the 2 smaller ones are males. I've seen something similar with the males climbing all over her, but I've yet to see her carrying eggs. I've had them about a year.

    Small Cameras - any suggestions?

I'd want a camera that did a mix of stuff, but I'd mostly use it for the kids parties type thing. Although decent pictures of tanks/plants/fish would also be required. I'm not too concerned with pixel count as I can't see me blowing anything up to poster size. I used to have a Minolta dynax...

    Nikon D40

I did a google on "d40 d40x" and there was good review of them which explained the lens options. They said that even really old nikkor lenses from the 60's fitted, but obviously no auitofocus. It's apparently quite small for an SLR and the ergonomics are of the best. It has good reviews on...
