I use one of these on my 60l... very small bubbles. I use it on my full pressurised system not the fluval 88 system it's intended for.
http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/fluval- ... -6010.html
pros.
very small bubbles
solid (not easily broken)
small size
cons.
it's black
hey, try a little monkey magic and give it a sharp tap with something hard... mine gets stuck occasionally and giving it a light whack gets it going again.
sorry I can't help with the bubble rates...
Chris
There are loads and loads of people using it, it is very effective.
just one I think of when I think of just easycarbo is this fantastic tank ( honestly there are absolutely loads, it very widely used)

and a nice article by George...
also I found my bubble counter started leaking once I upped the pressure. you could try without the bubble counter to reduce the number of parts in the system that could be causing a problem.
Chris
check for a leak, use some very soapy water on the pipe joints and around the atomiser...see if you get bubbles.
Also I found mine only worked at 1.8 (bar?) try upping the working pressure.
Chris
Hi Dawid, you could simplify the system so its just one atomiser, one valve and see if it all works. then swop over the atomisers and see if it is still all working.
Chris
I had probs with mine (dropping working pressure), until I dunked my bubble counter into a bucket of water and discovered a leak... I removed the bubble counter and the pressure stabilised.
It was fine for several months but I have stopped using my up diffuser now, as it too has developed a...
yep that looks ok to me, never used one though so can't vouch for quality. what are you going to use for a gas bottle? have you found somewhere to get it filled?
cheers
Chris
nice tip with the syringe, thanks Mark.
I use a tooth brush dipped in the bleach and then rubbed over the diffuser... means you don't get the bleach everywhere.
Chris
oh... thanks
... I get my co2 refilled at a place that services the oil platforms/shipping from great yarmouth, refilling massive tanks (taller than me) with various different gasses. I found them through a fire safety firm as they also refill fire extinguishers. might be a good approach???
Chris
don't know if it applies here, but I had a pressure drop over night when I had a leaking bubble counter and non return valve... 2 different instances. might be worth checking for leaks.
Chris
hello,
what are your thoughts on laying a co2 bottle on its side... it's not a fire extinguisher, but a refillable 2kg bottle.
anyone done this?
cheers
Chris
Re: Assistance needed UP atomiser(edited)
sorry no idea how to adjust the working pressure on your reg... but my chamber (as it were) has some water in it. It took me a while to get mine sorted out, I got rid of my bubble counter as it wasn't up to the extra pressure required and I managed to...
also the bubble counter is a good way to monitor your adjustments... 2 bps is twice the amount of CO2 as 1 bps... I know it's obvious but it's useful to think of it that way when your making adjustments. start low and increase slowly, think about the health of your livestock. If you haven't got...
I've used diy co2 with a Hong Kong type diffuser similar to the rhinox diffusers... you just need to make sure your tubes are well sealed so the pressure can build up... it might take a few hours to start coming through.
but it worked for me
Chris
there is no issue with 1.5 meters or several meters, but I have 3 young boys in my house and I would want everything that goes under the tank or is in reach, locked away where it can't be 'adjusted'. plus pressurized gases are dangerous
thats a worse case.
but what about your filter? my...
I've been using my own diy 4dkh solution. using this. while I'm not sure mine is 100% accurate I do know that once It goes very yellow my fish start to struggle so it must be close enough. try it out, if you have RO water why not?
chris
you'll need a bit of pressure to build up, when I used the diy method it could take 5 or 6 hours for the co2 to get through the diffuser. don't forget to check your joins for leaks (soapy water), as LD says it is normal for the water to enter the diffuser, it won't stop the co2 from getting...
check for leaks with soapy water... I had problems with mine slowing down when I first set it up, taking it apart and reconnecting sorted it out.
Chris
i've done it. worked well, but did take a few hours to build up the pressure so you need to be patient. make sure all the joints are 'air' tight.
cheers
Chris
I'll vouch for this different one. I had a problem with a plastic one leaking the water from the drop checker. Since changing to this one I haven't lost any. Plus I now have a very stable bubble rate.
to check for CO2 leaks you need to dilute some washing up liquid (I've read 50/50 but don't...
hi
i've had a similar thing... the water from the bubble counter was drawn back up towards the regulator. The water was being forced out of the non return valve. don't know what happen to the drips but they didn't seem to make to the floor??? :? this was a cheap return valve and was only about...
i've just got the lunapet kit, with bottle... p&p was £15.00. it might be less without the bottle. Haven't noticed an increase in noise from the solenoid, i do hear it come on but thats mostly the mechanical timer plug 'clunk'.
did have an issue with working pressure dropping but I seemed to...
no worries...
my guess is that it should fit as the FEs have the same (or near as) size thread as the refillable bottles. But I'm sure AE will know for sure.
C
yes i do have a solenoid... how have you connected yours... I have used a short section of air/co2 line to connect to reg. might try connecting directly.
ceg4048... looked for leaks but found none. I'll give it another go later, had the kids 'helping' this morning.
cheers
C
Hi all...
Just installed pressurised co2... after about 4 hours the bubble rate decreases. the 'working' pressure dial seems to be dropping... is it normal and should i just increase the bubble rate so once it drops it'll be at the required rate? although that doesn't seem ideal.
it is a...
Hello...
just seen these on ebay...
