my tank looked perfect, was just the cabinet. the holes at the back were a bit rough but nothing major to complain about. Once fully setup they look the buisness so dont worry.

theres a 15% discount code in pfk mag at the moment but nevermind 10% is still good. pfk mag also did a review of the 90 litre version of this tank. here is a nice video of someones aps tank, i had the 240l also and was quite pleased with it. just dont expect the build quality of expensive brands.

the filter is 15mm inner 20mm outer, so im guessing it wont fit the heater then :(

the 300w model says to fit 16mm pipes, could it work with 15mm too or does it have to be exactly 16mm to fit?

thats terrible, cant think of anything worse happening to a fishkeeper, hopefully some of them survive.

i ended up getting a small tin of black board paint from wilkos, was only £3 a tin thanks for the tip. ive just done the 3rd coat and it looks good, havent put the lights back on yet though. wished id have done it before setting the tank up, it was really awkward because of how close to the wall...

how come you didnt like it? i think i might try a black gloss as tile paint is 20 quid a tin

i want to paint my background black using ronseal tile paint but not sure if the fumes will be harmful to the fish etc inside the tank, any ideas?

ok thanks for the advice ill be on the lookout, ill do it this weekend when i usually do a 50-75% water change anyway. just hoping the crypt roots arent massive because when i moved some from my old 60l that was a year old they were freaking huge and brought up most of the substrate.

when i started my tank i was pretty ill and just chucked the plants in randomly, i planted the crypts too close to the glass as the front and now i want to move them to the back (i will take out a couple rocks to make room) will this be ok to do with all my livestock still in the tank?

thanks ive just found and read through it, i think ill give apple snails a miss and get some more nerites. i really wanted some but sounds too risky

are the common variety really plant safe? or is it a gamble? also would they be dinner for my zebra loaches?

thanks george. Ive already planted in clumps but tommorow i will uproot, trim and attempt to plant each stem until my patienece runs out :lol:

do i have to plant each individual stem (which would take ages) or plant in clumps? not sure whether to trim it either

emailed them today to ask about the lighting and they confirmed that the unit has 2 switches connected to 2 bulbs each, so its possible to just run just 2x39w t5s. would that be classified as low light in a 240l tank?

hello ive just purchased a juwel trigon off ebay i noticed the background was blue but assumed it was just a plastic stick on, got it home and realised it had been painted with what looks like emulsion. is there anyway to remove it without damaging the glass?
