    As this is your first go I'd say Put the camera on a tripod, for fish only pics get it as close to the spot in the tank where you want the fish to be - but obviously so you lens can still focus Push it to manual focus Then fir fun place some of their favourite food where the camera is focused...

    I think it's probably the hardest thing to do, light is either your best friend or your worst enemy, a polarising filter and take at a slight angle to cut out reflections on the glass, some of my best shots have been taken with a 300mm lens :-) well the fish just go about their normal behaviour...
