I bought a vase from a boot sale that had these jelly balls in it, no one knew what it was so I've been looking and found out about them "Crystal Mud Balls" Thought they could add another dimension to emersed growing Check out this video on YouTube: Has anyone used them?

I'm sure I've read somewhere to cut it up and mix it with yoghurt then spread it where you want it to grow :-)

I've not tried it myself but think the humidity would have to be very high and regular misting every few hours

No they are just sitting on top of the cat litter, I've taken out all the surplus water so no there's no visible water line

I have one set up for odd bits of plant and have put a couple of female fighter in it

Sure a fern would work, unpot it squash root ball into shape you want cover with moss and use fishing line to keep in place, I think you should probably have the moss or even the rootball touching water so it can drink, then I'd just keep spraying it, a bromeliad would look cool Saw some today...

They do it with pond plants including Lilly's too It's so that during the day workers can access the plants easy for packaging etc

ive seen it grow in two dutch plant companies, they sort of grow them all emersed thats why theres no algae on them, one company floods them over at night the other mists them, im experimenting with mine in my 20l

aprox 7.5 inches across at the widest point and 6.5 inches tall

I used cat litter as it is light, I planted some anubias bonsai in a soap dish in my 20l

Probably hold 2litres maybe a bit more

This may be a stupid question but I want to grow some anubias emmersed so normally you would attach it to something and drop it in the water, so now do I use soil? Or just gravel or still attach it to something and does it need to be kept covered of can I leave a lid off completely ??

Do they still make heating cables? If so would they be of any use in a small base area ?

Plus there's a 15ft fish house full of stuff just waiting to be cleaned up and switched on or sold off, not making that decision until I have to as I've seen lots of people sell up then a few years later start up again

There's fish in my trigon 350 plus I have a small tank of wild strain guppies, but I was forced to neglect them so virtually all plants died off, I like my plants but not up to the maintenance and re-scape needed so I thought I'd try emmersed method low maintenance
