I have had very good success with assassin snails... It's takes some time but they will eradicate a tank of pest snails. I have heard of them catching and eating shrimp as well though so be aware of that. Also they leave the shells behind so your water hardness may rise
If it makes you feel any better I have a rio 300 on laminate floor with the feet still on the cabinet and it hasn't damaged the floor.... It has however pushed it down about 1cm
The one problem I found with tropica's find a stockist feature was that many near me are pets at home.... Now if you are lucky you could get some nice species a couple of days after they come in but leave it any longer and they are ridden with algae and dying
I'm having good results with tropica's 1-2-grow weeping moss and I know others on here love it too.... I love fissidens but not sure on what lighting requirements it needs
Hi and happy thursday :-)
I have had my 90 litre tank running for three weeks now, have been dosing easy carbo every day and profito every week, lighting is a tmc 1500 ND tile which is on 5 hours a day and only one plug at the moment until I get a controller. Plants are P. Erectus, S. Repens...
Flooded it today :-)..... The HC didn't do great so took that out, I'm impressed the moss attached but not looking very green... Hopefully that'll pick up and the ludwigia has done well as has the eleocharis. Just going to see how it goes with liquid co2, ferts and weekly water changes
Hi,
Not much to report really... I've added some HC, I can see that the eleocharis is looking "stronger" and the hydrocotyle is starting to root. I have trimmed the ludwigia and it's growing very nice
Made a few adjustments to it (more will probably follow in the weeks to come lol). Added another rock to the top left and placed some moss on it, moved the eleocharis to the rear and added two stems of ludwigia repens Rubin in the middle. Not sure how that will look but could be interesting to...
There you go, just the hardscape in and a few hairgrass bits, I'm going to try the dry start method, something ive not ventured into before, if successful I may keep it emersed :-)
Not sure about the plants as I'm still a noob but the fish will be fine. I'm guessing though as long as, like you say you have the lights and co2 (and enough left of it) on a timer that should be good too :-)
Not if you have a robo-snail you don't! Hahaha..... It's a real product btw, a glass cleaning product that works by itself after an initial programming lol
Hi,
I have one of the above tanks and I want to give it a facelift, it's 8liters and lighting is 20w (halogen I think) according to the packet in which the bulbs came in it's 240 lumens.... This means absolutely nothing to me but hope it will to some of you guys. Now the question is can I...
Paddock farm have a decent selection of tropica plants, ferts and substrates along with other brands like TMC and easylife. They also have quite a bit of redmoor and have a few planted display tanks. They stock mother plants too which is a rarity.
