    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

Ok then! Here is the wood pre-epoxy. The crucial branch in question is the one bottom right making the little 'cave' (you can even see almost through it in this photo it's so thin - it looks like it wants to break doesn't it?). Here is the reinforced version. Can't tell any difference from...

    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

Good news. I used black Milliput epoxy to secure my wobbling but crucial branch on my driftwood. I took the driftwood out of the tank, put on the epoxy, left it out of the tank overnight, and mid-day then next day it was rock hard and I put it back in my tank. I have fish, snails, and shrimp in...

    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

https://www.milliput.com/ This aquarium epoxy comes in brown and black and will bond when wet. However some reefers claim it poisoned their tank, but others say they have used without issue... https://www.ultimatereef.net/threads/best-coral-glue-epoxy-milliput-stuff.277738/page-2

    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

Don't think this would work for aquariums because if you epoxy coat dry wood it will look unnaturally shiny and will almost certainly float!

    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

Makes sense. I see all these bonsai wood pieces that have been frankensteined together these days with a kind of wood-like epoxy. I have a piece of driftwood whose key branch is about to break, but I'd like to reinforce it with a similar epoxy - preferably one that can cure and bond to wood...

    Driftwood gradual dissolving/disintegration

Driftwood tends to gradually dissolve/disintegrate over time in the aquarium. This is super annoying when you spend years to find the right piece only to have it gradually disappear. I wonder if there are some woods that are super resistant - mopani comes to mind - or if anyone knows what...

    Foreground vallis and unicorns

Foreground vallis exists! Check out these photos from the shop Zoo Thun in Switzerland. Been there multiple times, this plant hasn't been recently trimmed. According to Daniel the owner the key for this species to grow low is to not fertilise it. I think I saw a unicorn today too. Fotos...

    Mopani Wood Scapes?

problem with mopani is that almost all pieces are two-dimensional and therefore boring as hell. hard to get the goodly wood!

Best way to break up bogwood?

    How did this end up?

    Arachnascape opinions

Lots of people just use a lead-tape weight wrapped around the vallis to keep it down until it roots. No shame it that.

I rather like it. Maybe a couple more small stones in and around the root. But very creative.

    Moss Aquascaping

Thought I would share. This looks awesome! In the comments someone says you can do this with all mosses. I gotta try it. http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/8238 ... -or-carpet

    Mangrove Roots

I posted this on another forum to some guy who wanted real mangroves in his tank and thought it would be useful here. Hope someone finds it useful. Ok, I have some experience with mangrove roots. I am from Hawaii and they have been introduced there. I went out and collected some live mangroves...
