i keep my main store of liquid ferts in spray bottles and my individual dosing ammounts for each day in test tubes that i kept when i threw out my test kit. when i do my weekly water change in refill the testubes with the right ammount using the spray bottle knozzle and on the day i dose i just...
there are 2 stages of algae, first is algae spores and second is the flagellate form. the algae spore seeks out a combination of light and amonia to then turn in to the flagellate (which is what we see as the visable algae) this flagellate seeks a different quary, this flagellate form feeds on...
i based it on james plated tank EI tutorial
the measurments that aaronnorth uses when it comes to the chemicals vary slightly to mine also.
aaronnorth-36g KNO3
12g KH2PO4
25g Trace
mine- 33g KNO3
7.2g KH2PO4
10g Trace
also my measurments...
hi, this is what i use to calculate for any size tank.
Macro- X/50=Y -> WxY=V :geek:
X=your tanks volume
Y= X/50
W=5ml for macro
V= the ammount you add to your tank 3x a week.
trace is exactly the same but 'W' is different.
Trace- X/50=Y -> WxY=V :geek:
X=your tanks volume
Y= X/50...
most people on here use hydor koralia for added circulation. i would recomend a hydor koralia 1 for you-http://www.onlinepetsupplies.uk.com/p/716056/hydor-koralia-1-aquarium-circulation-pump.html
but if your on a budget then there is nothing wrong with taking the powerhead out of one of your...
i would still aim for 30ppm in any situation, that way you know any deficiencie isnt down to lack of co2.
also, good circulation is needed to transport the nutrients and co2 around the tank and to the plants. aim for 10x turnover. this dosent have to be acheived using a filter, you can also buy...
cool, thanks for the link. Enlightement :angel:
learn somthing new every day.
so basicaly you want to keep the ppm of each nutrient constant to allow the plants to adapt to that ppm, varying levels of ppm mean the platns have to keep adapting and changing and not growing to their full potential.
yes, this is full E.I
here is an example from james planted tank of a schedule.
well with a tank your co2 and ferts need to match the lighting, you have high lighting so your co2 and fert dosing need to be high. if you want to lower the fert dosing like you say then yes you should lower the...
well 1st you need to decide on what dosing method best suits you. E.I, PMDD+P04 or all in one soloution.-http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/dosing-methods.htm
i would recomend EI, its simple, very effective, very flexable and ideal for a highlight tank which yours will become once you get the new...
no probs...it took me a while to get my head around E.I, and now i have made an equation that is (i think) fool proof for E.I dosing in a tank for both macro and trace. :mrgreen:
good luck with it.
for trace you need- 10g trace>250ml water.
then 2.5ml per 50L of water 3x a week.
WORKING-60/50L=1.2--> 1.2x2.5ml =3.7ml per day...so round it to 4ml per day 3x a week.
hope this helps :mrgreen:
does any one know a liquid fertilizer that has all the good stuff in it :wink: ...im the sort of person who dosent want loads of bottles in my fish tank cabinet with different dosing quantitys and measurments that could be so easily messed up. :|
im just looking for a good bottle of liquid...
