I'm running the 1000 over a 30cm cube on the mountaray and I wouldn't say it is overpowered. I am running injected CO2 though. Was going to go for the 400 but was advised by ADC that it was very weak. Might be fine for a low-tech. Will try to update my journal tonight. Sent from my MB860...

OK, so how do you mount these? Do you have to use the rail system and hang from ceiling? Also, what size tank would they be suitable for? Overkill on a 27 litre?

There's some kind of separate mounting system I believe. Would be very interested in one of these.

TBH I have no idea. Do not know how to judge LEDs at all. Maybe someone with LED experience can advise.

Thanks mate, will do. Only thing is I have no idea how to judge the brightness (or PAR I guess) of LEDs. Wattage is misleading isn't it? Aren't they much lower watts than t5/t8s?

Are they adjustable, i.e. dimmable? Very tempted by the 30cm but worry that it'll be excessive light for my 30cm cube. They do some really interesting moss as well, but don't know if they'll ship those internationally.
