I usually offer background film in black or white to be put in my custom builds Bradley but I have run out of stock! Sorry Mate, if u want me to put it the cube I'm building you I'm more than happy to. I have done this countless times with the above method. Using a spray bottle with a smidge of...

    Under tank heating mats

Always watching your pennies geezer, always have always will won't ya! 5 degrees more is probably ideal tbh. Try it out see what you think. I must say though if I was going with heating I would ultimately get a heat mat, I cannot stand wires in a tank. COMPLETELY ruins the point of a aquascape...

    Under tank heating mats

I personally wouldn't bother buddy. Were closing in on spring soon so temps will start to warm. I didn't have heaters in my walstad Mate, I had fish and snails breeding. I also don't have heaters in my triptychs and it's January. As long as your temps don't drop to low u will be fine. Just a...

Any difference between all the silicones out there?

Ha ha, I'm no Glazier Bene. To know something like u just said suggests u need to get out of the big smoke city and come visit me in the land of tranquillity. Then we can have a few beers and I can tell you how successful I'm going to be ;-) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

I think I would suggest tying the moss to the outer side of the pot to allow for better growth. I can imagine it is particularly dark inside. Just s thought. Oh and it looks like a slice of pineapple :-) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Any difference between all the silicones out there?

I don't think I have ever gone that cheap... But that might be just me assuming it must be crap due to price only.. Just something about putting all my trust in a product that will hold a heap load of water in my house when it is less that 4 quid just makes me uneasy lol but this is my opinion...

Any difference between all the silicones out there?

Not really Mate, very little difference, all clear silicon will after time go slightly white anyway but it's hard to notice. Not much difference between brands either to be honest. I have tried 4 or 5 different types and I didn't notice much difference in colour when using it pal. Sent from my...

Equipment thoughts for an "elegant" nano?

I must point out Mate, the volume of the water maybe 54kg but that's not taking into account the glass tanks and their scape and the cabinet in sits on. I think this absolutely depends on the stability of the house to. I knew someone from a forum that had a similar size tank not fall through the...

    Opti White ?

yeah I agree Nath, im just saying as I handle sheets of the stuff daily, it definitely from my point of view, scratches a lot more easily and have had people also tell me this. But you couldn't be more right, you do have to be heavy handed. magnet cleaners obviously depend on substrate your...

    Opti White ?

it does in fact scratch more easily, but as I say to people looking for a custom build it only gets scratched if your not careful. Dont use magnet cleaners or let your children near the tank with your car keys etc lol. I think on a general statement it does scratch more easily yes, but if its...

Thin algae magnet for thick glass

if you want my honest opinion I would steer well clear of magnet cleaners, they end up scratching the hell out of your glass. nothing like a kitchen sponge in my eyes :) work just as well and wont damage the glass. especially if its optiwhite!
